Um, I just get random gibberish with "portablesofdoom.org" repeated a few times when I click on the RSS feed link.

I found a better way to make an RSS news feed <a href="http://www.downes.ca/cgi-bin/page.cgi?d ... l">here</a>. It uses standard, compatible XML and is actually easy to code in Notepad. (I've done it before, it's not hard.)

@Spongey and/or gannon: if you PM me some news, I might be able to whip a .xml feed together this afternoon. It would be ready within the next coupla days.

Um, just a small correction. The link on the "completed" page for dkap01's PSp is broken (website no longer exists), it should go to www.portablesystems.net. I don't know if the Dreamcast one is the same way, but that's his site.

Bic was right, most RSS feed readers won't accept PHP feeds. Make the feed creator print to an RSS file. If you have the creator script on that file, force type PHP for RSS files, and echo the XML that readers accept. (Hope you understand all that, because I made a mess of typing that)

Have you given any thought to cookies?

everything outputted from the php file is rss compliant xml. I guess I'm just used to using the superior linux rss viewers that don't care about extensions or mime types

I guess I'll just add the type listing to the ACL though

It's output, but the XML tags are hidden. Some feed readers will accept that, but some only read from files with the extension RSS.

Anyways, I'll probably just assign the php processor to .rss files too
Edit: Ok, new rss feed at http://portablesofdoom.org/feed.rss

I added the mime type and php processor, and even encoded the xml entities (since xml seems to hate the & amp; format

)

That's what I'm talking about. The sessionID cookie is useless, because the server forgets that ID, even if we keep the cookie. We need user/pass cookies, which would help close that comments exploit.

Yeah, I added a cookie thing for that, but I just realized that we lost it when we moved servers (our backup was around 5 days old)
