Stupid controller question

here comes my question
I opened my ps controller thinking this little joysticks had tackt switches but there are I don't know what it is, perhaps potis so my question is are these things potis or switches which react on movement and can I use them for a NESp

they're pots. you can't use the pots for an NES but if you remove them and put tact switches where the analog stick thing can hit them easily, you could make it work

You could use a genesis controller for a C-64...

the joystick for the nes was optional but the C64 must have a joystick cause its the clasic way to use it and that is a must be for my planed C64p (I won't be able to start building it befor late November because I'm using a C64DTV2 Pal) is there the possebility to use for example a few transitors to make it switch at a certain resistance?
