One: It's been said before so SEARCH

Two: The XBOX weighs exactly 7.89546325 lbs. (WHY CARRY ALL THAT)

Three: The thing takes what 7 DIFFERENT VOLtAGES, how do you provide that, also with the screen, that is a lot

That's all I got to say, but nice try. :)

When I find an XBox on the cheap (im getting a broken one for free in December, DRE which I will probably be able to fix), I'm going to attempt to put it in an attache case. I probably wont bother with battery power, as the thing will need to be set down to play anyways.

well, considering that the thing boots of the hard drive, you're gonna have to have some type of storage device in there ;).....a laptop drive would work. anyway, for the power, a mini-itx power supply could be used...for the disc drive, just take it apart enough and mod it so that it's not a sliding tray drive but just one where the spindle is exposed (like the GC and the new PS2). for batteries, li-poly or li-ion would be best. but the main thing stopping us portablizers, besides all that extra work right there, is the size of the mobo...it's pretty damn big (believe me, I've seen it ;)). also, it'd be pretty thick because of the heatsink needed to cool the cpu...so, yes, it'd be possible, but it'd take a lot to do it :|...

Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

what if you used a modchip to put all your games on the harddrive. also, would it be possible to use falsh instead of a hardrive, to conserve power and weight?

yes....but you'd have to either use flash and a disc drive...or just a laptop drive with games saved onto it...the latter would be better, since a laptop drive alone is smaller than a disc drive, plus the small CF card (which is only up to 6GB with the micro drives :()

It's probably possible, just very impractical.

Get like 30 rechargeables, wire most of em up in parallel and the other couple in series(to get 12V).

Then you hook it up to one of those inverters that make wall plugs from your cars cigarette lighter thing. Plug in the xbox and play!

30Lbs and 5 minutes of pure halo. Ah! :D

Just imagine holding the thing. Even on your legs=ow....

That gives me a good idea of what to use that brushed aluminum camcorder case I saw in the local recycle shop for. It's probably big enough to hold an xbox.

Of course, you cold just play PC HALO on a laptop instead.

If it needs the disk drive, why not use a laptop dvd drive? Small, very portable as well. Modify it with the mod chip, laptop hdd, and a laptop dvd-rom. Most of the weight is coming from the original HDD and DVD-Rom anyways (power supply too, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad  ).

No, seriously, if you were to make an xbox inside an attache case, you'd be best off with

OPUS 150W dc-dc power supply (Not sure how much power xbox takes)
3 12v 6000mAH lead-acid batteries in parallel

Lead acid batteries are cheap, heavy, easy to charge, no memory, develop problems if you discharge more than 70% of capacity, and are available in a myraid of configurations.
