You ban, but I scam....the WWII

So there was a q about wether WWII games selled good in GERMANY. Yes, since NAZIS were not german, but a universal sign of evil, that is a quote from GAME INFORMER, jump them, not me. So then when I downloaded the demo for WOLFENSTEIN (new one) for PC. When installed, some thing flashed saying, delete if you live in Germany, or be persecuted  . I strike this as rather odd :? , but just a comment.

That's really odd... They actually said that in a demo? I don't really see how it would bother anybody in germany since they know nazi's were evil (well most of them do)

The Germans dont like anything that is related to the Nazis. The swchtica, Aryan pride, skin heads all the like is illegal. Its a way of keeping something like that from happening again.

I think its a little extreme to outlaw a game that has you fighing as a Nazi solder when really there is nothing beyond the swchtica and the word "Nazi" that would be illegal.

I think your spelling swastika wrong, or are u not alowed to write it? Though it does represent a bad thing, Im not promoting it, so its not bad that I wrote it.

I thought there was a "z" in it...

I've always had problems with video game censorship. Why shoud other people be allowed to choose the game I play? It makes me think of a quote I once heard. "I can't play this [video game]? Can I play tag at least? No?..." On the other hand, I do not approve of these vg that are overly violent and use subject matter that is not really apropriate. I wouldn't buy them. That doesn't mean, however, that the companies can't make them. I'd just suggest that people don't play these games. Let economics take it's toll on the company.

It probably will happen again if they don't teach them about it.

it always rubbed me wrong that Nazism was made illegal in Germany. It seemed to be a cheap way to cover up a problem by limiting the speech of its people. Suppression of opposition through censorship wouldn't fly here, but then Germany may not have the freedoms I'm used to.

on an unrelated topic, why has every German I've ever met succeeded in rubbing me the wrong way as well?

As Gamer2 pointed out... a lot of people from germany deny it happened because they don't really talk about that period of their history, and I'm sure you can guess why.
That is kind of stupid in a sense but in our history classes we don't speak of all the atrocities(sp?) in our war history even though they aren't as prominent as Nazism.
However not to be against Germans but they are pretty messed up, I've read some news articles about the sickest stuff ever that happens over there. I won't share it because it might be inappropriate for younger readers, but anyone who knows about that one Ramstein song knows what I'm talking about.

well you don't hear us preaching about how we put the Japanese americans in a camp during World War 2. Every country does it. Just like how the Japanese don't have a whole lot in their text books about how the raped China.

as far as Wolfenstein goes...Yeah that is pretty low rent. But I don't give a crap. That is why I live in America...

I don't know what school you went to, but it is taught in public school--though I suspect for a different reason.
