I was going to call in a bomb threat on the day of my band final last year, but decided against it, because I didn't want to use my cell, and the payphone at school is right outside the office.

Reaperman, I don't know where that study was conducted, but it's not true everywhere. I have a couple friends who have parents that work as teachers, and the 2 whose parents used to work at private schools, said that their parents made more working in private schools, than they do now in public schools.

Also, while everything in our economy goes up, public school teachers are one of the few groups in BC who haven't received any pay raises in the last 8 years.

It isn't onlyabout the money though. Most of the classrooms in my school aren't made to accomodate more than 30 students, while some of my classes have as many as 40 to 45 students. My band class has over 80 students, and we're packed into a room where we sit literally shoulder to shoulder!

I have band in my school.......and law society. Basically I'm in a group as lawyers who play as DA or Defendant attorney, and we prove or outprove imaginary cases. Actually fun, it's like playing the law part of the LAW AND ORDER game, but in real life :D

I'm in strings, and we have 12 people in there.

1 Bass
3 Cellos
2 Violas (one is me!)
3 First Violins
3 Second Violins (the bass kid also plays, but I'm not counting him)

I'm a violinist, and when a celloist is out, I'm both, as in for the violin solo/ chorus I'm there; then with cello, I'm there :)
