I wish you people would stop exagerating. They are not locking everyother thread. They are locking threads that for the most part are stupid. I'll say this right now, if I was a mod in 42 you probably would see a hell of a lot more closed threads. Why? becuase I stick to the rules. Spongebuell, Bicostp and Luc are very generous when it comes to leway on the threads and posts.

I've just about had it with you whiners. If you dont like these forums, GO AWAY! We dont need some cry babies hanging around saying how bad this place is. Either shut up or move on to another Message Board, I dont care.

And wheather you may care or not watching what you say here is important. And if its a joke make sure people know it. Cennar you think that was a great thing making that "Mini-Mods are Nazis" thread. Well thank you very much for opening Pandora's box.

I want you all to know that the ideas you live by about considering what your going to say when verbally talking to someone doesnt chance here. You say something wrong you cant take it back and if that causes trouble tough its your mistake you live with the consequesces of that action.

I'm feed up with all this garbage you bring at us. Growup!

The whole issue about mods posting in locked topics is foolish, and pointless. When you were in elementeray school or jr. high you all remember the teacher that ate food and stuff in class, you know why that is, its beacause they earned that right. If people would stop making stupid threads and just follow the rules, and dont whine about it when you break a rule and get sent to the parole list, you might someday get respect and might even become a mod. cennar and his little minions are just wanting to start a fight.

Sparkfist no capitilization in my name, for future reference.

Anyway, whiney people, i've barely seen a locked thread in this entire site, sure im not here too often(i try once a day), but still. Honestly we should abuse or power, show you whiners what true abuse of power is, and see how much fun your having after that.

I'm going to add my own 2 billion cents here.

I have noticed a slight increase of locked threads in the past few days. People who say more threads are being locked are at least somewhat correct: the newly increased mod force is now able to locate innapropriate threads which the previous mods simply missed. I see no problem with that. I have a single thread or so, where all of my own rants can live, and when I post in other threads, I naturally try to be only helpful and constructive.

In all of these semi-flamey "mini-mod" threads the power of mods such as Lucretius comes up. I'm wondering why it matters that he has some authority, or even greater authority? At least during the past three months he has never been anything but rational and relatively insightful. Every once in a while I have seen him say something crass, but those comments are always directed at persons who may possibly be called blithering morons- ok, that was too harsh- to people who themselves are acting innapropriately nonsensical.

Our older mods have been here a long time, because they have liked this hobby for a long time. They are ideal for mod positions, and can't possibly be blamed for current happenings.

Perhaps these issues can be resolved by keeping issues within the mod group. If a mod or mini-mod sees a problem with another mini-mod, they tell a mod like Lucretius about it so it can be resolved. Eventually all the "bad" mini-mods, if any exist (I doubt it), will be routed out, leaving only the choicest ones to help keep the forums sensible.

Well said, and I have taking measures to try to become "user-friendly" and whatnot...

i do not believe the problem lies with luc. its an issue that is complicated and hard to rationalize. some people might dislike the mini mods just for the fact they arent one. some just dont like the added athority and control. stuff like that, NO ONE can say im a powermongering control freak, ive pretty much done nothing as a minimod

Also, I think that sometimes the people that made the thread don't want to believe that it should be locked, or maybe they're afraid they did something wrong (which may or may not be the case) so they get offensive (not like "I am offended" or "that is a offensive odor" more like the opposite of defensive)

I don't think the mini-mods are a problem here. I think that when people with little to contribute to a thread, turn it into a five-page flamewar it gets closed.

This leaves the people who were attempting to be helpful without a thread. Perfectly valid threads, which initially broke no rules and its borderline whether or not they ever did.

it happened to HDC and it's still going on. There shouldn't have to be a rule about not pushing on the new guy until it gets emotional. Perhaps useless posts, or irrelevant posts should be removed/edited rather than whole threads. I wonder why I even bother

why did we come up with this idea anyhow? I mean you guys have gotten out of control with this idea, you seem to think your the gods of the forum, and I won't stand for it
also, how come mini's mod threads 9 threads started by mini mods) never get locked by another mini mod
I TOTALLY AGREE, Although, G-force is a good person about it, and same with spongebue.

i think its time to Nazi-erize this tread and poll it close it or lock it. Either way there needs to be more action. i dont even remember if and when we had a poll to determine if we are going to have nazis. do any of you remember back in the day i think it was the 30s when some guys blamed a big fire at the reichstag on a handi capped jew, that was enough to give them selfs the thing wise so they could lock up people or kill folks for absolutly no reason, do you remember what they where called? THE HITLER SQUAD!!!! i mean mini... sorry, umm.... oh god i always get this one, hippos. it'll come to me
