custom statuses and post count markers

So, do you guys think that we should have custom statuses, like at atari age? For those that don't know what it is, it a saying or something that you put above your avatar, whatever you want (following Ben's general etiquette rules, of course)

Also, I like how atari age (and many other forums) have some kind of symbol (such as a joystick) and you have a certain amount based on how many posts you have. I could even design it, if Ben wants

just thought that would be nice... you guys agree?

Sounds good.

The rank thing, we need to have strong inforcement against those. People might try to spam (more then some already do) to get a higher rank.

Yeah, I suppose, though it would be cool if there was some way to distinguish people like gannon from people like nes.

Yeah well just keep it out of your posts.

Would it be possible to have different style ranks. Like have emblems based off Sega and Nintendo, not like we have just those two just a veriaty to choose from.

I had another idea for statuses. Instead of basing it on posts, why not let the people choose, and it uses the average. The more markers, the better. Of course, votes will be confidential. I suppose then there's the possibility of people making deals, like "I'll give you 5 stars (or whatever is used) if you give me 5"

see... a rating system would express the quality of the posts, not the quantity... and in some cases, this would be a good thing to have.

yeah, but like you said, people could make some kind of agreement to give each other more stars (or whatever......). as far as I'm concerned it wouldn't matter either way. we're doing fine now, but if a lot of people here want a rating system, then let them have it !!!!! (if ben allows/wants it, that is......). hmmmmm sounds as if we at the benheck.com forums have established a democracy....Ben's got my vote for president
