I just got some free PIC microcontroller samples from Thailand...and we're learning how to program them in school. These things are great, the possibilities are limited only by your programming ability...which in my case isn't the greatest yet.
Anyway...you guys all seem to be more creative than I am, so, if you could do anything electronic, what would it be? If I design it i'll be sure to share it with you!

I agree those PIC cpus are tons fun and very useful as well. Here's a project I made with one:

I'd build something like a POV toy, sort of like <a href="http://ladyada.net/make/spokepov/index.html">ladyada's SpokePOV</a>, or the <a href="http://ladyada.net/make/minipov/index.html">MiniPOV</a>. Those are pretty cool.

I would love to learn how to do that. You're pretty lucky that your school offers that. Although MY school offers portablizing, game tips, and intro HTML classes. And I can skip any time I want.

G-force how old are you and how long have you been homeschooled? I was homeschooled also until freshman year in highschool.

I wonder how many other homeschoolders there are... Well, I'm 17 and I have never been to a public school class my entire life. Yeah, my entire life I've been homeschooled. It kinda sucks, but there are a few advantages to it. I honestly don't know which is better since I can't compare them.

Public school is way better, bacause evne though you may learn less/slowerdue to accomidating everyone's learning abilities,you have better social skills, more friends, and you can meet girls easier. Public school teaches you many other lessons than just in the class room.

yeah, I wish I were still in high school, it was sooo much easier. I'm actually studying electrical engineering at WPI. It's all really cool stuff, but they don't go easy on you. that's why FDS's whining bothers me so
Anyway that prop clock is pretty awesome. I've also seen some things like that where there's a lever arm that swings back and forth and displays the image. I couldn't find the code for his project though, it looks like he programmed it in C, which would be a whole lot easier than assembly language. I might try it during one of my breaks though, right after I finish my NESp

@Mr. Cool, almost everyone I know says "People who go to public school have better social skills." That's a blatant lie. I've been both places and after comparing both types of people, I've noticed the homeschooled have a HUGE skill advantage, compared to the usually off-putting and generally exclusive nature of people in the public school. You might be assuming that homeschoolers never socialize, but that's a common misconception. We used to get together regularly and do all kinds of fun stuff (appropriate, mind you) and nobody really cared what age you were. Now in public school you are egregiously ignored just because there's one year of age difference.

also, it depends on the homeschooled kid. One kid at my camp is homeschooled cause his dad owns the camp, so in the winter fall and spring, he only sees adults, and he is the most ANNOYING thing ever.

Yeah unfortunately there are some whiners out there. But thankfully much less than the whiners in public school.
