accually im not left handed but i like the feel of the controls on the right and the fire button on the left

problems
i was playing and the thing just turned off
i think the 7805 got too hot and blew and then fried the namco board

I think maybe just the 7805 is fried, the Namco board might still be OK. Try replacing the regulator.

Next time try heatsinking the 7805... if there's room. Otherwise you could put some thermal compound on the inside of the altoids and use the tin for the heatsink.

Reminds me... I've got to get back to work on my tetris-in-a-tin project. It uses the smae cinnamon tin as yours!

for an easy heatsink you can glue a couple pennies to the regulator.
