why did we come up with this idea anyhow? I mean you guys have gotten out of control with this idea, you seem to think your the gods of the forum, and I won't stand for it
also, how come mini's mod threads 9 threads started by mini mods) never get locked by another mini mod

Examples? When did a mod say "Shut up because I'm a moderator?!"? Or when did one say "The PSP is better because I have the power to lock this thread?" To my memory....never.

Well I'll just post this here then...

We try our best to remain fair and impartial. Threads are only locked because they either break rules or are way too hateful. But when cronic problems come up, we have to adopt a "firm but fair" policy, to solve the problem without being oppressive.

If you don't agree with us, just send us a PM and we'll try and resolve the issue. We're not trying to take total control over the forums, we're here to help. Remember we can't read minds. If you don't like what's going on, you have to tell us!

We're here to better serve the community, not to strut power.

I've been lurking for a couple months here, and from what I can see, the minimods are doing fine. Maybe cennar is having a bad day.
I can somewhat see how cennar thinks that the mods are being turds. I don't mean any bad feelings here, but even though Luc is trying to be helpful and he is succeeding very well, sometimes he comes off as somewhat smug. Primarily the autobiography thread, but that's just my thoughts.

My thoughts: Keep the minimods in, let everything cool down and THEN come back and evaluate which system of organization would be better.

i think they're doing they're job fine. there'll ocasionally be a thread that shouldn't be locked but not enough to flame over

You know screaming fowl play isnt exactly going to win a war.

Ok time to disect this thread. First I dont think a single mod thinks he's all powerful. Hell the only person that is likely to feel that way is Ben or Gannon, and Ben has every right to. We were choicen because of the way we post and how well we stand up for the forum rules. Think of use as a local milisha.

Now why are the threads started by mods not closed? Well maybe because we dont break rules or to a lesser extent dont tread close enough to that side of gray to warrent a closing as the mod sees.

Now you want to say we're evil, unfair and arrogent? Prove it! And I will add this, you bring up that 3000 thread I made big deal I wouldnt have kicked and screamed if it was closed I would have said "Oh well" and moved on.

I hate it when someone has to point a finger in order to make themselves feel justified.

oh very good, but I seem to recall a few threads that were pam by mini mods, it just kept on going ang going like an enegizer battery

My question for those who are so opposing of the idea of mini mods: What do you propose we do instead? The forums are too big for just a couple mods, since they can't be on all the time, and there is just too much activity here on a daily basis for a few mods to patrol. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to them to require them to do such an extraordinary amount of moderating. I personally feel the system currently works well.

There will be an occasional locked thread that doesn't necessarily deserve to be locked, but remember this: "To err is human." Everyone makes mistakes, so its no use jumping on the backs of the mods just because they might have closed a thread wrongly.

dude...get over yourself. "I won't stant for it"..."I'm going to keep on whining until i can post whatever crap I want"...if you want to call people names or complain about every little detail go somewhere else. These forums are about making portables, and in the case of Forum 42, having a good time and talking to eachother, not saying whatever the heck you please. I've been here for about 3 months, and every thread I've seen locked deserved it, due to breaking the rules, or sheer stupidity.

Ok I personally liked it better when we had one or two mods for everything. I think we should vote for a new one from all the members. My problem with the mini-mods is not all of them are always doing whats best for the furoms. I know a few times they have gone to a locked furom and posted in it becasue they either wanted the last word in or to say they could post in it being a mod. You all know who you are that did that. DON"T try and deny it. Please if I have to search through the forums to find it I am gonna be pissed. Casue thats just a wait of my time. So I think it should be abolished just becasue I don't feel they are doing the best job and abusing their powers.
