Ps1 Screen Fried?

i was trying to make a car adapter and accdently hooked polarity up backwards and now don't turn on with regular power suppy.
is it fried?

try jumping the fuse and look in the sticky

Probably not.

There's a couple small fuses you can just put a dab of solder over, and the screen has a chance of working again. (They don't look like old wall fuses, they're small, colored squares with solder on both sides.)

Check in the sticky, there's better instructions there.

Just be extra-careful after this repair, because those fuses can't protect the screen again. If you do the same thing again then the screen's dead.

well u should do the led mod anyway it saves but loads of power

Does anybody know what kind of resistor you would need to put in there to make it work again? I'm a little weary of just removing and/or jumping it. Thanks.

I don't know, but the fuse is probably rated somewhere around 2-4 amps. It's hard to buy SMT fuses in small quanitities though.

i don't know if fuses are polarized, but if they aren't, they can't help from reverse polarity, only high wattage
