The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy" is an amazing book series, that I'm sure many of you have read and enjoyed...but who, exactly....so...post here if you've read it, plan to read it, or have watched the movie (which isn't as good, though )!!! also, you can post some favorite parts of the books

I won't right now, though....I've got lots of portablizing work to be done ...oh, but I have read all five books, just to let you know

I've played the Infocom game before, it was actually quite good.

(but the furthest I've ever gotten in it is the Heart of Gold, so... )

I read the first two, then lost my book so I forgot how the plot was and such. Recently though, I found the book, so I've started rereading. As for favorite parts...two words: Vogon poetry.

yeah, that was pretty good ...really, there are so many great parts in the series....it's so brilliant the way Adams will make fun of parts of society using this sci-fi world

I'm up to So long and thanks for all the fish. I love the first three. Esspecally the whole part of the ruler of the galaxcy.

I'd say if anyone wants to read it. Media Play sells a complete edition for $20. Its very worth the money.

As for the movie..... The parts where they had just used the Infenity Probablity Drive were just hularious. But Zaphod's second head was stupid and he hardly showed is third arm. I'm tempted to look for the older version of the movie to see how that one looks.

I'd avoid the older movie if you can't stand or don't appreciate British sci-fi "B" movies. At least his head was almost always visible (though I remember not seeing the third arm).

I read the whole series. I found the last book somewhat dissapointing though, as Adam seemed to just get bored and 'end' it all. I won't give it away for all of those who haven't read it yet

The new movie was ok...I wouldn't pay to see it on big screen a second time, but it was pretty decent, I think.

I've read 2 and a half, or maybe three and a half. Whichever book has them back in time is the one I half-read. Anyways, I prefer real scifi, and the inferencial humor versus blatant.

After reading the review on www.afistfulofreviews.com (Love the site btw.) I am anxious to see the movie when it arrives at my FREE rental place (AKA library). And while I am there I will pick up the book! Genius!

yeah, the fifth book wasn't THAT great :-\.....the ending WAS kind of abrupt, too ...I think I remember reading somewhere that Adams wanted to have a different ending (or maybe he did in the radio series) where....well, where the ending was different
