Family Guy movie rant

Ok, so I rented this movie last night. Yes, the "uncensored" movie. The story itself was ok, for the most part. But there is one thing that pisses me off. In fact, it pisses me off a lot. The box says that it is "uncensored." There was that bathtub scene you've seen in the commercials. They did what they would do in the show normally, have bubbles be a cover. You know, the normal stuff. While not the best, it's excusable, IMO. But then, the F word was said a few times. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what was said, it was freaking beeped over! How can a movie have the words be bleeped over and still be considered uncensored? I could see the change being made if they decided to air it someday, but I paid (even if it was through rental) for an uncensored movie. And I got something that was bleeped over several times. It's unrated anyway, what would it hurt?

i was a little disappointed with the story but it was still pretty funny

I ummmm, found a copy somewhere....

In short it is the worst primetime-cartoon-based movie ever released. Even the flinstone movies have it beat. The problem was that Family Guy didn't seem to associate itself with the plot very closely. It'd wander here and there, because the fact is, that there wasn't enough product to stick to.

It had about as much actual content as a two-part episode but was stretched into a miserable experience for all. This technique worked a little better in the southpark movie...mainly because of the extended musical content...

Now that Beavis and Butthead movie on the other hand...I don't even have a reasonable answer as to why that one worked so well, but it is the standard to beat.

I have the actual UNSENSORED release. The story was weak, but it was nice to watch Peter "You know what grinds my gears america? YOU! copulate YOU!!" That made my day... When Stewie said "A bullet sounds the same in any language, so shut your copulate mouth you cow" was nice, i thought he was gonna say (ahem), but eh' you cant have it all.

The drunken lois bit in the beginning was great.... "copulate YEAH!!"

FWIW, I found out that the uncensored one is a separate audio track on the DVD, it plays the censored one by default.

That's stupid.

I think I might get the movie. I'll see what its like first. I have friend who says he has it downloaded with the whole Family Guy series.

Sounds rather bland. I will get it if the library gets it in (FREE movie rentals, hell yeah!). But my parents would think it's some kinda smut if I tried to rent it in front of them (cuz of the uncensored thing).

Most movie rental places don't give you the original box, and it probably doesn't say uncensored on it

And, if they ask, there's nothing other than the language, if you even care about that.

It depends on the library itself, but there's a good chance they have some decent stuff, if you look around

All our librarys are great. You just request a movie and they will buy it for you! They have just about any movie genre you can you think of, anime, action, art, etc. Blockbuster can kiss my ass!

Libraries kick ass! My local library has hundreds of music CDs, nearly 100 VHS tapes, just as many DVDs, and a bunch of computer software. They have a bunch of new movies too, so I always check there first before I go to Blockblister. (half the time, they hae the movie I'm looking for!

) Then I check the "for sale" section of Blockbuster, because I can sometimes find a good movie for about the same price as a rental (for example Airplane! and Ghostbusters II. Great movies, man. Great movies.

) Renting is the last resort, but when I get home, I... well... I can't talk about how I get a copy of the movie here...
