Open Ports

I got the StarWars Battle Front 2 Beta

and WHen ever i try to join a server, it Loads, then crashes.
and Someone was saying Opening Ports will Stop the game from Crashing.

How do I open ports? and My step Dad tells me, If i mess up while Opening the Ports i could ruin the Internet for my Laptop.

You'll need to get into your router's web configuration, (the gateway IP) usually it's 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, type that into your address bar and see what comes up. If it has a password you should be able to find a list of defualt passwords and see if that works for getting in. (Just google the model number)

Oh man its way to hard to open a Port for my LinkSys Router,

is there anyway i can make it work with out opening a port?

like should i close ALL running programs including firewalls?

If you want a virus... yeah go ahead, it gives you step by step stuff man it cant be that hard.
