Was that the shortest retirement ever?

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of ending my self imposed retirement. I have been happily playing my Snesp, but I can only take so much Super Mario World.

I'm feeling a bit inspired by the good work of atkafighter (he said that the only part of mine that he didn't re-do was the led mod).

I actually have had some sucess on my own in the past, see the link below, that is making me a bit optimistic about my chances.

Anyways it is about time I got to the purpose of this post - right?

Well I want to get out of retirement slowly & safely so I'm wondering what project you guys think might be the easiest for me to complete (I really need a confidence builder).

Some of my possible next projects include:

Monster game boy (I'm not sure why but I'm kind of interested in building a game boy advance with a psone screen).

Sega Rev 3 I'm mostly interested in this one because I have one & recently picked up some carts at a yard sale.

Atari on a Chip This is one that I started when I was super gung ho, but I've stalled out a bit as I'm not sure what I'm really doing. I think that this one may be easy though.

PsoneI also have one of these I picked up recently, the only issue is I can't tell if it's dead or not yet. I think the audio video cable is ruined, but I'm not really sure. I was thinking this might be an easy way to go (similar to what atkafigher built) & I liked it because the games look fairly decent.

Nintendo 64 I like this one because I think it is one of the best cart based systems ever. I have 3 of them (although from what I've read, I'm not sure if that's enough). But this looks very complex, especially if doing a cart relocate.

Still I plan on taking my next project very slowly. Please any input would be very appreciated. I guess I'm trying to find out what would give me the best chance of completion & what there is the most info out there on.

For all those people out there who don't really care whether or not I'm retired or not, I appologize for this rambling post. Thanks

Oh yeah, I almost forgot I just picked up an intec screen pad, I think that would be cool to use because apparently I wouldn't have to do the led mod.

It was Reaperman who has something like this on doomportables. You might want to PM him or something if you're thinking of doing it. If this was purely hypothetical, though, just content yourself with knowing it is possible.

I will say that viewing games on the PSOne monitor was beyond beautiful.

I'm just hoping a similar TV adapter comes out for micro--so I can make a 'console cradle' for it.
though the old transverter might work. I wonder if they use the same screen cable...I doubt it, but it's worth a look inside...

Hi,

I've got a intec screen pad up for trade. However it doesn't seem to be generating much interest. If I don't trade it, I might as well try & hook it up to my Atari on a chip. I searched & found a hip gear screen pad pin-out link, but it was a dead link. Anyone know where I can find some good info. Thanks.
