It looks nice, but I would leave out the side bar when accessing the forums...too crunched up.

it's kind of busy on the right for me.
maybe you should put in a vertical ticker that ticks links to the various portables.

Looks good Ben! How about using PHP or at least CSS, so you can change page styles without recoding all of the pages. I am glad you are getting rid of the center-aligned text.

Its good, although I do like the current design a little better. Maybe make this into a poll? That would show how much people like it. I think it might be better with a link to the forums on the side bar, so that noobs could get there easily.

The navigation information on top will be changed, won't it? I'd like to not have to scroll down every time to see if you updated.

Also, if you want, I could help you make a MySQL news page while you are in the mood to update your site. I suppose it will add queries, but it seems like it's something other than the amount of users causing the problem, since you fixed it.

PM me if you are interested, it will make updating the front page a lot easier, and any differences are negligible on the front page

UPDATED on 9-27-05. It now has columns on both sides and everything scales. Please try this on different resolutions, with sidetabs, etc. It should work in 800x600 on up.

Main BG is monochrome rather than the hint of blue it used to have.

Try the forums link, it's all that works at present. There's a frame at top with all the icon links, providing more room for forums. (rather than a sidebar) This is how all pages (other than the main homepage) would look. I think the important thing is putting all the stuff up front once people get there.

Thoughts? How are the forums working for everyone?

Forums appear to be working OK... *knocks on wood, bulls out 4 leaf clover, hangs horseshoe on the wall*
