Well I just finished soldering on the IC my nesp. Then I went to look at bens schematics from the book, and I realized I soldered the pc board slightly wrong. I realized one side has 3 holes on the right side and 2 holes on the left...therefore the boards predrilled holes are not symmetrical. Unfortunately I think this threw off the way I soldered the whole pc board. Does this mean I have to desolder and then solder it back to the right spots on the pc board or would it still work ok this way. Here are some pictures (I didnt solder on tact switches or wires yet)
It should work, just double-check your work. Judge by what pins the wires connect to, as opposed to copying the diagram exactly. As long as all the connections go to the pins they're supposed to go to, you'll have to trouble with it.
Thanks for the quick reply I have another quick question though. Since it doesn't matter exactly where I wire everything to the pc boards, am I able to solder tact switches wherever I want to? (I want the buttons positioned differently from Bens design) I'm guessing that I can, but I just want to be sure I dont mess up things.
Sweet! I'm really getting excited with my project...I cant wait until my digi key order comes in so i can finish wiring the boards. Thanks a lot bicostp
