PSP USB Connection Help

Post by Dave »

My computer refuses to recognize my PSP! It worked fine yesterday, now it won't read it. Any thoughts? The memory card i formatted and I have XP. Every time I try to update the driver it says there is no better driver, even though I have no driver! Can anyone help me out?

well, have you tried to find a psp driver? I really don't know, I have 2000, and I can plug my psp in, put it in usb mode and it connects, maybe you haven't put it in usb mode? have you? its in the far left directory, it says usb connection, open it and connect your usb cable, it should help, otherwise, I can't help

I read somewhere that this happens with some PSP. First put the PSP into USB mode, then connect the cable.

Ugh, It still says it is unrecognized. Is there anyway to get a driver for it?

You don't need a driver. It's a USB mass storage device. Try running the Add Hardware Wizard. It should detect it.

Have you tried using the memory stick in a Sony memory stick reader? That might work...

If it doesn't try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, or try a different port. I know I have a game controller that won't work when I plug it into the back of my PC; I have to plug it into the front. Sometimes USB hubs can mess with stuff like that, too.
