Hotdog-cart: Choose his fate

Post by SpongeBuell »

First of all, this poll was ok'ed by gannon. Just thought I'd get that out of the way.

As you probably know, Hotdog-cart has continuously posted many posts, many of which seem to have been lies. Some have been inappropriate, such as in the 9/11 thread (though they have been deleted) In the opinion of many, he makes little if any contribution to the forum. If you'd like, take a look at all of his posts here.

This person has already been temporarily banned twice, and there is a "3 strikes you're out" kind of policy around here. It hasn't really come to that, though. So, here's what you get to do: vote. There will be a poll running for 3 days (automatically closed by phpBB) If the votes are 80% or more in favor of banning, he will more likely than not be banned. Keep in mind, this is not the only thing affecting what happens to him.

So, vote and express your opions here!

Better late then never.

That last thread about him being illegal. It got under my skin to the point I wanted to post in it to let everyone know that its threads and post like his that make me with I were a mod in this forum. There is out but the point is made that I detest pointless and useless posts.

And to HotDog Cart. Dont think we're doing this just becuase we hate you. We're also helping Ben here. He's footing the bill and we are on a religious crusade to keep crap like what you make from building up or happening period becuase we dont want to bury Ben with bandwidth bills.

There now carry on.

P.S. Try saying "bury Ben with bandwidth bills" 10 times fast. I couldnt resist.

Once this is over we shall also simply delete this AND the last offending thread. Any objections?

I was planning on locking, I think that's probably good enough. If nothing else, it shows that there was a majority vote

I do believe that he needs to find a new place to post his pointless topics. I know that I've been posting a lot lately, but that is because I'm trying to get a lot of projects done. HDC on the other hand (with almost 500 posts!? He joined after I did!) constantly posts things that people don't care about, and/or are completely worthless. This is a place for people to talk about hacking things and here he is trying to tell us about his "brushes with danger", or his self-inflicted injuries. He did post some mods before: his mass produced RC PDA, and RC clock, and his fake SNES and GBO board. All of which were garbage. I didn't mind seeing his posts all over F42 when I first started posting here, but now its just plain annoying, and as many have said before me its also costing Ben money.

As fun as debunking his storys are, it does cost money, so yeah I say lets ban him. Either that or he magically gains +50 smarts, and apologizes for his spamming ways.

And he has to have a legal document acknowledging he magically gained +50 smarts, so he doen't make something up :P

he's pretty much harmless. There are far worse things one could do to get banned. porn, (intentional) piracy links, extreme cursing

I just ignore posts I don't much care for.

Age is also a factor. He's just opened his first system. This kid is the first of the next generation of console hackers, he just got into it a little earlier than most of us did. And if he's the age I'm thinking he's at, strapping a clock to an RC remote, or opening a gameboy for the heck of it, puts him right about on track to writing his own book on portables in 20 years.

Everybody started small.

It's one thing to start small, but to never go above small at all, and then sticking around to post all of the most off-topic crap you can is another.

Whenever he posts it turns into a flamefest, which costs Ben bandwidth. Plus he posts about nothing anyone cares about, and most of the time he spams.

Normally I'd say "give him a temp ban for a month", but since this is his third infraction I say ban the son of a gun. We hae to draw the line SOMEWHERE, and if he hasn't gotten the hint that nobody here likes him yet, then he never will.

I talked with my dad about this, and he was asking me why Hotdogger isn't banned already. When I lurk from school and read Hotdogger's posts, and my friends look over my shoulder, they say he's a douche. This shoudl tell you something. ;)

I know I haven't been on this forum that long, but I've read some of HDC's topics and I would think to myself is he for real? I've noticed all his work is suspicious or somewhat useless. The one that caught my surprise was some emulator thing he said he made by hooking it up to a computer that ran windows 3.1 or some crap like that. Most of the stuff he posts honestly makes no sense and not to mention he has gotten the most zings than any other member  Man, if he was a member at emutalk forums he would have been banned a long time ago.

I dont like choosing peoples fates unless I believe they deserve it.(Not saying wether I believe he deserves it or not.)
I think you guys will definatley make the right decision, whichever it is.

:D or :(

Kind of reminds me of school "have a great day, or not, the choice is yours."

I dont think he should be banned. It's too fun to yell at him, but I think he should contribute with a mandatory donation.
