where's the gbm?

Post by Reaperman@home »

the GBM feels great in my hands, is cute and little, and was out on the 19th. Websites are selling it like it's in stock, but no local store support. is this typical? I guess when it's not new hardware 'launch date' and 'street date' don't match up... In the store, I get the run-around and days ranging from today (which got 'revised' to the 27th), all the way out to even the 5th of next month.

I'm not preordering because of the late dates I'm getting.

Some of you guys are in retail, when am I going to get my actually portable, portable game system? I'm pretty mad at the stores around here for not caring enough about my $100. Since I'm the only one on the planet who wants one of these, Nintendo'd better get me one quick.

the big N's forums are down...probably flooded with other depressed fanboys... this is the first time I've had trouble buying a new console.

nintendo's trap? Your concern for my money is noted.

since I skipped the SP and DS, which feel awful, I'm seriously due for a hardware upgrade from my orig GBA.

Canada got all theirs on time. it's a US issue.
nintendo website now listing msrp at $79.99--but I suspect it to be a typo

i was actually debating picking one of these up, just for the reason of having it stuffed in between my car seats to play when stuck in traffic. It would work for RPGs...

what I'm hearing on the nintendo forum is that launch has been pushed back a week without any notification. They did this bacause they are unable to meet demand.

I have a feeling the person who said this has no idea if its true or not. I'm leaning toward 'not' for the simple reason that 'demand' for the GBM consists entirely of me, phoning 4-6 stores a day...

there is no announcement on nintendo.com, and canada got theirs already.

also in nintendo news, the new generation of SP will have a backlit screen, and is comming out pronto.
what do you get when you backlight that garbage system?
backlit garbage...
the SP should be called the Portable hand cramp

They should just make their lcds accept composite signals then we would all buy them up (for the sole purpose of ripping it apart). That would be the smartest marketing decision Nintendo EVER made.

I dont get any cramps on the SP. The real carpal tunnel lies in the DS, with the left d-pad button and the a-button about 1mm away from the edges, the aches I've gotten from the long hours playing Bomberman have all but led to amputation.
