Screen problems

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Screen problems

Post by atkafighter »

Hi,
This screen was sent to me to work on and I can't get it to power on. It was led modded (by the original owner). I have it connected to the system and it does not power on. Any Ideas?
Thanks

What screen is it?

If it's PSone, did you try jumping the fuses yet?

Maybe there's not enoughpower running to it?

Yes it is psone lcd, and i just jumped the fuses. It powers on but shuts off quickly. Crackling can be heard through the speakers so I'm charging the battery at the moment (it could be low).
I'll keep you updated
Thanks

Yes I did the 5v fix, and still nothing no leds, nothing. It appears that the lcd pixels are changing color but I can't tell without the backlight on.
Thanks for the help
EDIT: I just noticed that one of the wires from the led mod was touching a resistor on the back of the board. After removing the bridge it works!
Thanks guys! :P
