Nintendo Revolution Questions unanswered...

Post by FDSMAN »

Thank you for your e-mail. While I will not be able to answer your questions in a different font color, I will be happy to share with you what I know.

Q. Will the Nintendo Revolution be able to use Gamecube Controllers and Memory Cards.

A. While we do not know if Nintendo GameCube Memory Cards will be compatible with the system, the original Nintendo GameCube controller will work with the system.

Q. Will the Nintendo Revolution be able to play roms, movies, and images off of the SD Memory Stick.

A. This type of information is not known at this time.

Q. What will I need to use the Wi-Fi Internet connection, and what will it receive? (example: 802.11g, 802.11.b), Will there be a possible web browser?

A. Currently, what we know is that you'll need to have a Wi-Fi compatible wireless router. We are currently working on an accessory called the USB Wireless Network Adapter that will use a USB 2.0 connection. We will have more details when they are announced.

As for an Internet Browser, it is certainly possible we could offer this type of feature sometime in the future.

Q. Will the dongle for DVD's be expensive?, Will there be a combo package (example:one with and one without).

A. No details yet.

Q. Will the controller be able to work with the DVD function?

A. No details yet.

Q. Can you give me an estimate of how much it will cost such as,
(please put prices next to item)
System -
Games -
DVD Dongle -
Gamecube type Controller Shell-

A. This information has not yet been announced.

So you can use GC controllers. Is that only for backwards compatibility with GC games? And how does that fit in with the new controller... :?

Yes, they said they may change the controllers Very slightly also. In a video it shows the bottom 2 buttons as X and Y, another with b and a (lowercase)

EDIT: it was pictures showing b/a, not the same video.

I dont see why not, the GC controller and the remote+joystick-addon both have all the necessary buttons.
