Well it is only a mockup so i don't know if that will be real but it's a cool idea.

Third parties are likely to run away at the start, but you have to remember- this is essentially a console-ified DS. Anything that works great on it will work great for this. FPSes, puzzles, mysteries, simulations, anythign that uses a mouse..

If third pareties or the player doesn't like the controller, there's a controller shell for more traditional gaming. Also, I imagine addons will be plentiful for certain types of games.

Wow, this is some crap I never would have expected from this forum. I too was WTF when I first saw the Revolution controller, but it's really grown on me. The idea of literally being in total control of Link's sword is something I've dreamed about for a long time, and Nintendo's finally freakin delivering.

3rd party's

THQ
Activision
Electronic Arts
Ubisoft

http://cube.ign.com/articles/651/651304p1.html

Quite frankly, there are no other third parties which I buy games from, so wheres the lack of third party love? So what if ports from Xbox and PS3 are going to be hell? They're gonna be hell on Xbox and PS3's controllers anyway, *Boomerang and white giant, they did barely anything to fix what was wrong with both Xbox controllers, wth?*

This may alienate some gamers, mostly those who are too closed minded to try something different. For those who can try something new, and out there it should be great.

Everyone complains that they want a mouse for FPS games, then Nintendo hands them a 3d mouse and they go nuts. Explain Irony, will you? The controller offers unlimited expansion possibilities, and almost pure profits with a cheaply produced expansion.

This is the first step into virtual reality, hell if you could clip two of them onto your legs, and two onto your arms you could experience near full VR. Something that many have demanded for years. A fighting game where you literally throw the punches and kicks sounds far funner then a fighting game where you press annoying button combos that are nigh impossible to remember. I still can't pull off that hadoken thing on Super Street Fighter. >_>

On to the Nintendo death blow business. If you told me that Ninty was going to die over this, I'd ask you, "What the heck have you been smoking?!" Nintendo is by far the most profitable game company to date. They may do things that sound stupid, like only being 3 times more powerful than gamecube, or re releasing the GBA again, but these things are made so cheaply, that everything they sell pulls in money.

Think about it. The DS is underpowered, to produce one DS prolly costs about 100$ or so, then they sell it for 130. 30$ profit there, compared to nigh 0 on the PSP because it had to be the most powerful. The Revolution will prolly cost them 200$ to produce one, then go for 250 or so. Compare to PS3 which just have to be the most powerful and use things such as the cell chip, and Sony won't make any profit unless they ask for 600$ or so. And you wondered why the PSX didn't sell?

Nintendo's decisions, no matter how stupid sounding, actually make a profit. Regardless of whether you like them, people who know their games for being child friendly will still buy them, rather than give their kid GTA. Nintendo will then draw in it's old hardcore fanbase with Zelda and Metroid. Nintendo doesn't have to be on top to win, they just have to sell enough to stay in 3rd. They won't die, because they will continue to make a profit. 1st place, as Sony shows with PS3, isn't always profitable.

Yeah, i think before everyone goes, "oh copulate! this isnt a regular controller, WHERE ARE ALL OF MY BUTTONS?!," they need to think about how this controller is innovative, and how it wont just stand alone. There are going to be so many different add-ons and other peripherals that it will make your head spin. Nintendo isnt going to hand you this odd controller that you've never even dreamed/Nightmared of and say "uh, not it." There will be so many different ways of using and changing this controller to adapt to the environment that they give you. I think they are completely backing out of the corner, and really going on this plane that is above Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo is creating an atomosphere for EVERYONE, wether people want to see that or not. How many times have you seen an adult playing a console, or how many times have you seen your parents sit down and play your XBOX or PS2. Yeah not as much as younger people, thats for sure. Why do you think that is? Well maybe they're used to some classics like Pong and Asteroids. Everytime i sit down (and im copulate 16) and try to use a XBOX controller I get confused at all of the damn buttons molded into that plastic. IMO i think all video games shouldn't have many more buttons than 6, cause what are you trying to acomplish after that? How far i can stretch my thumb? A lot of what Nintendo is doing with that controller is like, well duh...I can do this. crap it ain't hard to figure out what they're doing with it. Im sure everyone saw that point and click thing with Metroid. Wow it actually took them that long to do that right? I mean duck hunt was and still is gaggles of fun. They are finally taking it to the nxt level by incorporating that idea in new software. IMHO this technology should've been on shelves years ago, Like N64 years ago. Once again video games since Saturn have just been revised versions of Sega's failed console. Everyone is female of the dog species and moaning that this is stupid, and I think that those individuals are just lazy. Sorry Nintendo didn't make a controller that you couldn't clentch your sweaty palms with, and nestle it in your small crotch. You are going to have to sit upright and move around and interact with the game. I think Nintendo wants you to play with the game, rather than just play it, and a lot of people seem to not want to do that. The only conclusion I can come up with, is being lazy. Like oh damn i have to move my arm? Cant i just inaccurately togggle my thumb around this joystick to aim at that little nazi and just end up shooting his shoulder a lot. Come on, you actually though DooM 3 or Half-Life 2 works with a modern controller? Get real, that is not the way to play a FPS. I mean it is first person on the screen, but what part about moving multiple joy sticks and pressing buttons makes it a first hand experience? The Revolution controller seems to really simulate a first hand experience, and people don't seem to be bitting. It's okay, if i didnt want to think, i would play Xbox. But i thought about video games and the direction they're going in, and quite frankly this direction is completely different and where video games should've went years ago. Now they are finally doing it.

Seeing as the controler is literally a "mouse in space" i think it will take off just fine, not great, but fine because almost every games made on a computer using a mouse some a few others can be ported to the revolution. Although some wont work due to the lack of keyboard/buttons

I like the gun-addon, that'll make games awesome, as you wont be holding a massive controller trying to shoot and crap, but you actually have the damned weapon in your hand.

Where it lacks in button, they make up for it in MOTION. Everyone is freakin out cause it only has two buttons. How will I jump?! How will I croutch?! How will I swing my sword?! How will I look?! AIM?! POINT?! You move your hand losers. OH copulate that is such a radical concept! The theroetical button is there. All of your wacky buttons are there, the white, black, X, Y, Z, all of them and more. They are just theoretical buttons, and apparently that concept is just a little too radical for you simple minded graphics thumpers. There are 100 X more buttons than the PS3 and XBOX 360 ever wished they had. They are just MF'n in theory, in MOVEMENT!

I meant as in the keyboard  Unles you can make up fro 103 keys with movement i doubt all computer games could be ported
