i'm not sure how to connect the battery to the board
i'm using a rc battery but were do the wires connect

um...what type are you using? The original NES board, one of the clones or a NOAC thing

okay that was dumb ?
now what i really need to know is do i need to if i need to have a regulator for power from the 9.6v battery to the psone screen

First, revive it by jumping the fuse. You can find the info on how almost anywhere around here. Second, use a 7808 regulator from RadioShack to knock the 11v (yes, 9.6v batteries actually output more than they say) down to 8v. Be extra careful once you jump the fuse though…
