Need CNC PSone measurements, getting plastic

Post by bicostp »

OK as you all probably know, I decided to scrap all the case designs I made and just copy the cnc routed one from the book. (Yeah, yeah. "real original". I know :P)

However the only problem is that my computer only recognizes the .pdf files. So Icopied and pasted them into Photoshop and printed them off at 160.47 % of original size. The front of the case is about 5.75" wide, and all the other parts are scaled up to match.

Does this size sound about right for the CNC project?

Or is there a free viewer for the other files, so I can print them at thgeir proper size?

(<a href="http://benheck.com/book/downloads/PSone_CNC.zip">This is the support file I downloaded</a>.)

Photoshop should be able to open PDFs, and JPEGs. The Illustrator and Corel Draw are probably useless, but you don't need them if you have Photoshop anyway. Print them at 100% directly from PS and you'll be fine.

I just tried Photoshop to import the PDF files, and it didn't scale them right.

I wound up printing off a tiny mini-case which is about the size of the GBP.

Anyways, I'm off to Lowes to look for plastic. I sure hope they have some! :P (They'd better have some... ;))

OOh... Or what if they don't have any? You gonna hurt the person that said it was there? Hmm... You're just crazy enough to do that :P ... *Burns PC, then runs to mountain monks for protection*

Well my relatives got .5" thick plastic for their skid-steer cab there, I figured they'd have it. (I wonder if there's still some scrap plastic around at their garage...)
