We're starting a biography thread a-fresh. This time, there's a twist!

You may write an autobiography detailing all the major things you've done and experienced at the forums. Your life here. Obviously, these are going to be rather long, no three sentence ones here, folks. (I'll be doing one too)

The second option is to write a biography. That is, not about you. In that case you need to submit it to either Spongey or myself before you post it. We reserve the right to not allow you to post it if it is inappropriate. Those posted without being approved WILL be deleted. We are accepting voulnteers for this position, so PM me if you are interested.

The Big twist is that you must have been a member for 4 months or longer to be the sunject of one.

I also am willing to write two other people's biographies, but this will be done on a first come, first serve basis. Order's will be taken as PMs, not posts here.

You can do as many as you want, but put some thought into them! Have fun, and let's get nostalgic!

Come on Luc to be honest you left yourself open for that by not using caps on the P and M. Also thats what happens when you hang (so to speak) with a bunch of guys that are at heart, childish and inmature.

I might right one, if I do I have to finish a letter first, otherwise I'll never hear the end of it from my older brother.

I came here in early March 2005, but I lurked at the old site for quite a while before that. When I first started posting here, I was regarded as a "spammer n00b" because of my spamming and n00bishness. Then I laid low for a while, posting a bit, but I tried to learn, not just ask questions over and over. And just look at me now! I've been clean of spam for months! (I had a Spam sandwich yesterday. Spam tastes kinda nasty in my opinion.)

I've always tried to contribute in anyway I could, from solving tech problems to re-sizing images and URLs in F42 so even people with 800x600 res screens won't have to scroll sideways.

I survived the 8-12 hack attack. Man that was an awkward time. Nobody knew where to go. I, for one, opened the doors to my small spin-off forum for discussion, but pretty much everyone else went to benheck.gptheatre.co.uk. I saw the great doomportables.org fall. What a sad day that was. Where the eff is Abbibi?!

My website has progressed from a puny 15 MB size, 300Mb bandwidth GeoCities account to bicostp.coconia.net to bicnam.farvista.net now finally to bicostp.gptheatre.co.uk, which has been much more reliable than 100webspace.

99% of my posts were posted on a PC I made out of scrap parts, and now it's sort of split between my Windows 2000 machine and my Knoppix machine. On all the PCs at school, I always use the Knoppix live CD to boot off of, so I always have the same system everywhere I go (and because most of the school's PCs are FUBAR )

I tinker with Photoshop and ImageReady, and I put together my website with FrontPage. Whoop-de-freakin-doo. That was about the most uninteresting thing I've said so far (and that's really saying something!)

That about wraps it up for now. Who's gonna post next?

I came here around march about a couple months before any other noobish poeple got here, I ave been here long enough to know my way around, I have also made some not so friendly friends, such as soundwave... also have been posting here as a spammer noob to a leet spammer noob, as they call me, also I mainly post in the forum 42 forum, a post in any other forum is a rare and valuable post that should be rmemebered so you can have somthing good to say about me, and that's about it,

i lost my GBASP on a bus coming home from tennesse and every time i lose or break something, i upgrade. the problem was the new handhelds are too expensive so i decided to make my own portable N64 after i got the idea from RPGtknick's i found on hackaday. i googled it to see if there was anything else about it and found this place and started out as a noob but quickly de-noobified and now i'm not a noob anymore. now i'm slowly making my gameboy 64 (might just end up calling it "gameboy") and helping other people with theirs. then school started and scool+marching band+whatever elese there is= not much time and dad decided he wasn't over-protective enough and made the firewall turn off the internet at 11:00 so i don't have much time to come here. next year i'll probably get a job so i'll have even less time but i'll have a car to even things out. i'll also be able to drive anywhere i want so i can get what i need to finish the gameboy 64 quickly if it isn't finished by then

I first came across the ben heck website after the article about the hand held NES. After doing some research I stumbled upon the forums, and joined under the alias NOOB. Even though i chose that name as sort of a joke, I was a noob and asked a lot of questions, fortunately i have yet to be flammed. Even though I visit the forums tri-daily, i dont post that often, notice Post count. I only contribute it i have someing important to say or have something relevant to say, some people have yet to lean this........

Anyway, I was really active in learning about the whole PcP project. But now i am building a N64p. During mid summer i requested Gannon to change my name to Trv, finally deciding i am going to be a permanent part of these forums whether you like it or not. I too came out of the attacks on Ben Heck unscathed. Today, i finally received Ben's book, so i hope to be starting the N64p after i can gather some money....

i came here in march 2005 i joined as the much hated corky the portabiliser.....after being hated and recieving multiple threatening pm's from some members i left that account and rejoined as *o* i chose that name as it confuses php forums meaning i cant be searched for or my post cant be tracked as easily....

now i have seriously slowed down on my posting as i am a member of 6 different forums

I came here with no intention of staying. I was working on My own Ideas (portables) when I found bens website. I was trying to find some info on my very first portable Several years ago, Never once looking at the forums. I found not much, but a guy who did the same thing I wanted to do.

After a while, I started coming back. I remember when the Project 42 was a new thing. Up until about March of this year, I never once even looked at the forums.


Now I'd say I am very active. I am here at least 1-2 times a day, not accounting for things such as major events. (such as moving!)

I like to work on videogame systems. I like chopping them up, rewiring them, and then watching it work for the very first time. I also like to wire up things that are broken, making life easier than having to buy a new thing. I've been playing video games since as young as I can remember. I make modifications to the video games to make them nicer for me. I dont try to make everyone else look at what I make and tell me what they want. If I did, I would just have them custimize their own units. You know, Give them measurements of parts and have them design their own cases. Getting back on topic!

I like to teach people how to make things, or how to understand why. I absolutley hate telling people how to do things without making them understand why it works. I would love to build units and sell them to other people, mabye by their own design.

I like working and making things, modifications, and more general, Electronics. I am taking my Digital electronics class to try to help boost my knowledge in the areas of ICs, op amps, Binary/high low/ CMOS, ROM, Logic gates, and other things.

Basically to sum it up for those of you who dont like to read:
I stumbled upon Bens site In the midst of making my own portable. The site was cool, and gave me some general ideas (mostly caseworking) On how to finish my own.(based off my knowledge, not a how to.)
And I like electronics. I like to build/repair things for other people, and for me too.

*sigh*...I guess I'd better write an autobiography of my portablizing ....

well, it all started one day (about...a year and a half ago) when I was reminiscing on the good ol' N64 days, when I realized that it would be so cool if I could have a portable N64....I seemed to remember from EGM an article of someone doing something like that, but I couldn't find the article and I wasn't very, er, google-efficient back then . anyway, I got home, took apart my N64, stuffed all the guts into a cardboard box along with a GC screen and connected all the AC plugs....it was a PoS, but it was still pretty cool . anyway, I found the magazine, and stumbled onto ben's site. I asked some stupid questions and eventually I found RPGTKNIck's N64p guide. I tried to follow it, but I kept frying stuff, so I decided to just build my own using a GBA Sp and a radioshack project box.....I remember the night when I finished my first portable....it....was awesome !!!! I finished it around the time of the new forum's opening

after that, I eventually decided to do a GCp.....a decision that would take a whole 9 or so months to actually become real (maybe 3 months were real work, though ) anyway, while thinking of stuff for the GCp I built two more N64ps, one in a week because I was going on a long vacation, and one in four or so days....also for a vacation. the third N64p was great, with a pocket tv as the screen and all in a 7*5*3 inch case. anyway, I came back and started seriously working on the GCp...I got to work in the fall and worked on it periodically until early Janurary, when I finally finished it....(in December I started on a fourth N64p....didn't get finished until recently, though and is now being fixed along with my GCp, too ). in the coming months I kept having to fix parts of the GCp because of shoddy wiring ....I started work on a SNESp, which will be TINY when you see it ....I still gotta get a cart. slot, though....anyway, in the summer I took an EE course at CMU....after that, I finished my N64p4, went to portugal, and now here I am back in school ..

I still have yet to completely finish fixing the GCp, since I still need some LEDs and a disc drive board....I also need to replace the DC-DC converter in my N64p4....once those two are done, I can finally resume work on my SNESp ...

and then...I may start on my own N64p semi mass-produced N64p, with custom cases and psone screens...but only after I finish MY portables
