I think I'll start working on my own skins too--for the micro.

what else would you put on the cutest system ever?
I made a ton of these...most aren't nearly as girly, though.
(yes, this linked image is much lousier than the huge one I'll be printing)

I'm thinking it's going to be easy to turn the GBM faceplates into clear faceplates again--if they don't give us clear ones. probably be able to rub the image off the inside with alcohol or simple green to avoid fogging.

I can't wait to show hello kitty off to all my friends. Or maybe I'll use my "Limited Edition Don Johnson GBM" skin.

How do you do that so well?

Is their one for NDS?

To remove the decals, you could just use Brasso.

metroid> I turned the template into a mask in photoshop and pasted a bunch of pictures behind it. I don't know about NDS templates. There probably are, but not from the guy I got my template from.

as for decals, I hope to avoid the issue. I'm planning on cutting them out of photo paper and wedging them between a clear faceplate and the system. I hope they give clear faceplates...but I'm prepared if they don't...

I can even use the GBA jpg viewer to display the rest of the image on the game screen--for when I'm looking cool wearing it around my neck. the original picture and it's dozens of layers are now nearly 500MB...I get so carried away.

actual size is something you choose when you print it.
we're all viewing it at different sizes because of our various monitor sizes and resolutions. anything can be printed actual size assuming it fits on the page and is bigger than a single dot.

It's kind of low res, but since you're just using the shape it doesn't really matter, just hit the areas you want to show through with the magic wand and erase down to background.

edit:
something like this, but you may want to care more when you do it (sharpen edges, not forget that triangle by the 'A' button, etc)

looks like the big N is encouraging this practice...
TONS of GBM skins for (super)Mario's 20th B-Day:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/mario20th/20t ... index.html
if this catches on, I may not have to make a clear faceplate afterall

the lik-sang.com forum also had a kicking GBM faceplate competition going.
