finding the model of a mobo.

i just got another new mobo, and i hooked everything up, but i found out my power button/HDlight/power light/ cable doesn't connect with the connection they have. i traced the wires from the power button itself and it has a blue cable and an orange one. I think one goes to powerbutton# and one goes to GND, but i'm not sure which is which. can someone help? EDIT: i'm pretty sure it's blue. Now i want to know, how do i find out the model of my mobo? i want to check what the pins do, but i don't know. It's the factory installed one from my pc.
EDIT: e-mailed the company, they said u have to call the parts department (which is only open from 7AM-7PM)

for switches which ever one is ground does not matter, for LEDs if you plug them in backwards they just dont light up...and no it doesent fry them

so i could use either one to go to the pwrbtn# pin?
If thats what you mean, than it's wrong. i got the orange one to go on it and the blue one to go on ground, and than plugged it in. besides a loud buzz coming from the processor (another problem i need to fix), nothing was going on. even pressing the power button nothing happened.

then you mixing it up more than just a positive ground mix up

processors shouldnt ever buzz

ok then, so it's probably the processor's fan. Well, now i found out that the power button i have won't work with the board and i need a new one. where do i get a power button (i dont have any computers i can rip it off of)?

I'm pretty sure PC power buttons are just momentary SPST pushbuttons...

there should be a two wire socket somewhere towards the front of the motherboard, perhaps looking in the manual would help, should have a labelled diagram of all ports and good stuff.

Top row from left to right :
PLED+ PLED- PWRBTN# GND
