Very funny, I know what formatting your hard drive does!

well, it seems to have a problem with the disk drive. When you format it, it starts from scratch. If nothing else, it's worth a try. I once got a flaky MP3 player, did a format, and now it's a lot better (not perfect, the hard drive is failing)
Also, try disk defragmenter and scandisk. I suppose it may not do what it's supposed to if it's a flash-based drive (not a real hard drive, with spinning disks and all) but it won't hurt it.

I agree. I had to reformat mine, and sure it deleted all the songs but they were still on my computer, and my mp3 player is happy now.

DIRECTIONS
Please give specific directions on how to do this, dont just say, copy it on to your computer, I tried when my player was hooked up so it would format but I couldent figure out how, so please tell me!
1 connect your mp3 player to your computer
2 make sure all the songs on it are also on the computer
3 go to my computer
4 find the icon that says removable disc. On my computer it is under the floppy disc drive icon, and it says removable disc e
5 double click it
6 In the box it will give you an option to format it to FAT or FAT16 or FAT32.
On my mp3 player it didnt really matter which one you formated it to, im not really sure what the difference is anyways
7 format it. It will say that you are going to delete all the files on it, but since they are on your computer it doesnt mater,
Hope this solves it.
