This Friday...

PlayStation turns 10 years old!

It's weird. It seems just yesterday People were buying them for $100, and now they aren't worth jack. I loved my first PSX so much, and now it's dead from a worn out laser... It lived a good life :)

I plan to celebrate with some of my best PS games, Syphon Filter (btw, the main characters name is coincidentally 'Gabe' ;) ), Tomb Raider 2, Tiny tank, Metal Gear Solid, and whatever else I can find. Anybody else plan to join me?

I was late in getting mine, but mine promptly died of a worn out laser. Recently I acquired a PSone with a screen (I really only wanted the screen) so I can celebrate it with that. Long live our old playstations!

Happy McBirthday Playstation!

I'll probably spend it by giving my PSX a day off. I'll play the games on Virtual Game Station. :P

Virtual Game Station is a PSX emulator Connectix made back in '99. Sony sued them and VGS got taken off the market. It doesn't need a PSX BIOS file or anything, but unless you use some Aldo's Tools extensions on it it only runs on Pentiuim II, and III based systems, running Windows 95 or 98. I've got patches for it that run it in higher resolutions on all versions of Windows.

Heck yes! :D

Memory card support
High-res movie support
Plays smoothly even on a P2 400
Game Controller support

And with tools from Aldo's Tools, it can run on almost any Windows based computer.

You'll have to tarck down the demo off the web or the full version off the web or LimeWire or something...
