power supply's confusing
i just got some N64s and a power supply from gannon but my little brothers are always using the power supply so i'm gonna use a computer power supply for now and i found out the pinouts but there's 2 wires i don't how to use. there's "power supply on" which i probably know what it does but not how to use it and there's "power good" which i have no idea what it's for or if i need it. how do you turn a power supply on without a computer? here's the pinout:

i tried that and it fried the psu
. then i found something easier to turn on: an old PSU with a real switch instead of those fake hard to use switches but it only ouputs 5v and 12v. i know there's a resistor that can lower that to around 3.3v. what are the color bands for it? i thinks it's 2-3 ohms but i'm not sure. i also have some 100k pots. is there a way i could use them to get it down to 3.3v? also, how do caluculate how much resistence you need to get a certain voltage?

First of all, those dinky 1/2 watt resistors from RadioShack aren't going to do crap, they'll blow as soon as you run that much power through them. No, you're going to need a larger resistor, which isn't practical either. I'd just get a new mini-ATX supply and use that, you'll need an AC adapter for it though, I think it's about 12v or something. As for the power, just try wiring up the N64 (3.3v to 3.3v, 12v to 12v, ground to ground), if it doesn't work, well then it doesn't work. Search for more answers.
