Has anyone made a portable without soldering?

Well sure you <i>could</i> make a portable without a soldering iorn, but the connection quality would be crap and it would probably stop working altogether. Plus if a connection comes loose, the wire could bridge pins and possibly fry the board. Worst case scenario: the batery gets shorted out, overheats, and explodes.

Believe me, a <$20 investment into an iorn will go a long way towards quality and safety.

Actually I think you could make a portable PSone without soldering. (not the cheap way by buying everything) since the screen is already meant for it you can just plug that in and maybe extend some wires. (with out soldering). Then just rip apart the controller and then cut holes in the case and see if you can just plug it into the port its supposed to. Then just wire the battery how I did, and cut open the power supply from the playstation and wire it directly to the plug. I think thats all

I think someone made a portable NES with all the plugs and stuff. But I'd imagine some soldering would be required.

Didnt Ben make something like that, used 9v batteries. Ofcourse this is before the first VCSp.
