Tested Flash Cartridges
Troubleshooting (make sure you try all of this)

The EFA-Linker II is not on the list. Did you delete the menu file on the card, and just load the file?

I'm loving my PassMe, because I can play Omalone DS!

Unfortunatly the guys who made the thing disided not to put a 'menu off' option on the program. Appertintly they are getting a lot of bad publisity and are working on solveing the problem. I should be able to play it in a week or so... still sucks tho

So would I, I want an _official_ remake, not some emulated junk! Hands down, best Metroid game ever!

What homebrews do you reccomend to try? I've only tried Omalone, and that was cool. I'm waiting for a multi menu.

Methinks you could try using a different flashing software, or try to format the card, might break the card, though!

http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=4629 has a bunch of homebrew stuff.

http://dual-soft.com/doomds/ is a brand new homebrew Doom game someone is making for the DS... I have to say, it looks better than any other commecial shooter.

http://mdxonline.dyndns.org/archives/nds/ Moonshell is a multi-format program that can play MP3s, and a bunch of other files. They are also trying to imcorperate a movie player.

http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/ A DS copy of scummvm that allows you to play a bunch of clasic games like Monkey Island.

http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/videoconverters.shtml A very new but cool video playing program.

http://heretic.drunkencoders.com/ A port of Heretic. A sweet adventure game from 1994. (you need the .wad to play)

http://www.telefragged.com/thefatal/ind ... _si_ds.htm Hexen DS, sweet adventure game by the same company as Heretic (you need the .wad file to play)

Theres plenty more still out there for people to find but these are the coolest.

Quick question...does the DS Cart you plug in get affected, or will it be fine when you take it out and try to use it?

It dosn't do anything to the cart. All it dose it when the DS trys to accsess the DS cart you have in, it authorises its a Nintendo Licenced DS cart, then just before it loads the game the PassMe redirects the DS to the GBA slot where the flash cart is and boots the DS game stored there. It dosn't alter it in any way. (Some of the new Magic Keys by Neo-Flash can run commecial DS roms, but they have to erase the saves of the cart you have pluged in to save. Also the supermario game save is something like 128k but the Metroid demo save is only 64k, so you would need to have a cart with 128k+ of save room inorder to save Mario, but you will also lose all your save data for the game your saving it on.)

I don't like that 'requiring a DS game' to work garbage.
why is this, and when will there be a solution?
it's very bulky.

The DS cartridge is for authentification. If they made it no cartridge required, it would probably be violating the DCMA, and if it had no cart req, there would be a ROM image on it (or pieces of one), so that would make it illegal I guess.

If you have a passme and a GBA flash cart, there is a way to download Scumm for it. Scumm is the program that lets you play those awesome lucasarts games like sam and max, and maniac mansion: day of the tentacle.
Oh, and the old monkey island games!
