I cant wait for the Xbox 1080 dude!
This is what happens when fanboyism takes over.
Got that right :x Halo 6 is like 5+ years away. The Xbox will prolly not even exist anymore and mirosoft might of created a new one. Hell, microsoft, sony and nintendo might not be making games anymore or merged into a super company to create new VR games.

Next Gen:

Playstation 3: Because it's comaptible with all my old games, and I don't like having to switch systems all the time. The controllers I've seen so far , though, I really hate. Why not just use the same layout?

Nintendo Revolution: This would have been at the bottom if it wasn't for the promise of classic downloadable games. However it's not at the top because there probably won't be any hackability to it, and wireless controllers are pointless. Plus I doubt it will be backwards compatible with the Gamecube.

Xbox 3.1415927:I hate Microsoft. They drowned out the computer market by making it seem like Windopes is the only choice. Not to mention I hate the Xbox games and controllers. Maybe it will be possible to install Linux on the 360, but I'm sure MS would send a squad of secret agents to your house to take you away to a reform camp, never to be heard of again, if you did anything to their precious, buggy software.
Umm yeah about the revolution it was already stated that it was backwards compatible with the gamecube...
here
not to mention awsome colors

lol yeah but i think nintendo might just pull it off if they can get all the gimics out at the same time and not make you buy every little thing latter... oh and having games for it would be nice too...

Here are my views:

GameCube: Excellent games (especially since I keep it in public area in my house where my mom sees it), best controller (Nintendo seems to be the only company that understands and has grasped the term 'ergonomic'), and it's durable (and if you don't know what I mean, you haven't seen enough TechTV)

PS2: meh, doesn't have any games that appeal to me (except possibly DDR) and the controller sux

Xbox: and I quote "No, you don't even deserve to be a game system!"

As for next-gen:

Revolution: backwards compatibility with games (and older games too!), works with GameCube controller (or so it looks like), FREE ONLINE PLAY

PS3: uses the Cell Processor by IBM, everything else: 5ux0r5

Xbox 360: meh, never even liked Microsoft to begin with…

And last gen:

N64: I wanted one. Bad. Never managed to save up the $100 though…

Playstation: as I said about the PS2, the games didn't appeal to me, besides, my mom was WAY against videogames then and if I couldn't get an N64, I couldn't get a Playstation either.

Bleh!

I'm sorry, but those are really crappy reasons. OMG YOU CAN'T HACK THE CONSOLE THAT MAKES IT REALLY BAD. All I want my console to do is what it's supposed to- PLAY GAMES. If you want Linux or Mac OS X, BUY THE OPERATING SYSTEM.

And second, it has been CONFIRMED to be backwards compatible with Gamecube. And if that's one reason the PS2 was really popular, and they've done it with their Gameboy line, why will they stop now?

Well excuuuse me. ;)

Everyone has their reasons for liking or disliking things. Just because the console has no hackability, that doesn't make it bad, it just makes me less interested in it. I like to muck around with stuff like Linux.

And about the confirmed compatibility, sorry. I just don't read a ton of game sites and I don't have a subscription to Nintendo Power or Game Informer or anything like that. I've got tuition fees and gas to save up for, and that kind of takes priority in my attention over the latest info on the Nintendo revolution, you know? ;)

Handhelds...hmmm:

1. The GBP. My Personal Favorite. I really like the GBO. It's so classic. So real. So...big, and a nasty screen. But the GBP solves those last two. I must say, though, I really think that it should have been realeased INSTEAD of the GBO. Also, the GBCam rocked, plus many of the GBO/P games were simply awsome.

2. The GBA/SP. Ok, really these two cut rather close. Maybe it's because The GBA was the first game console in my house, and the SP was the first I owned. Between them, I like the frontlit GBSP, but I love the shape of the GBA.

3. The PSP. Yep, I said it. A Sony product. The only problems I see with the thing is the fact that it's not too durable. But I'm careful with my stuff, so it wouldn't be a problem for me. All in all, though, I like the graphics, the size, shape, even games. Now I'm unclean, though.

4. The NDS. I like to shake things up. We all know how gimmicky the poor thing is. I prefer to think of it as "revolutionary" (uhoh, waxing Reggie here...). I like a challenge, and learning a new way to controll the game is just what I needed to scratch that itch. Plus, I reallt don't hate the games. I don't often buy more than five or six for a systen anyway.

5. Atari Lynx Mk II. Ok, I'll bite, the Mk I is the same, but you can't beat the size. Anyway, I apreaciate that Atari made the first color handheld with a backlit(ish) screen. The games were ok and AA has provided it with nice homebrews too.

6. The NeoGeo Color. That thing was pretty cool. The games were ok, the graphics were nice, and it was a nice size and shape too. Pretty cool. Not the best, but not the worst.

7. The GBC. I really never liked the GBC. Not much, anyway. Too many pokemon and movie-based games. And the colors weren't even that great. I get ridiculed for this, but in my opinion, the only GB's that SHOULD have been released were the GBP and a backlit GBA (not the sp, too clucky).

Im pretty much the same, and telling the truth, I prefer nintendo games over all. Its just that I know someone with a modded XBOX and I usually am on the computer ( here, or playing counterstrike. )

I like gamecube, but I'm waiting for new games to come out, you know, new games in november like always.(possibly online DS games)

For the PS2 I dont have anything to say. I dont own one, and I dont like em. I play them at my friends house, and the only good game he had was Red faction 2(FPS). And I prefer counterstrike over analog controllers.(and Halflife 2/Counterstrike source)

I love how in every post(except one or 2) people keep putting the cube(and revolution)as second. Its cool to see that everyone sees the cube as a good system(if not the best, but thats your opinion)
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

yay then its ture its ok for me to hate you!!! oh thank god!!! and i still dont remember why... but i hate you just the same.

on a more sane note.. the batarang (i mean the ps3 controlers) look vary uncomfortable, plus you remember when they talked about the emotion processor and how it was so better than every thing ever made.. and now we all know it couldnt even bet a Dreamcasts specs? well not that it means any thing but i think the sony marketing guys are playing with the numbers a little there might be a catch on the specs. like the processor is this fast if you conect three or more ps3s together.

revolution looks cool i want to see the controllers but they might not have any cool games and thats realy hard to do during this console race, of witch none of the curent gen systems made any origanal games, and nintendo is stilll premoting the backwards compatable junk to games they havent quite been able to rehash more than 50 times. so i want a revolution if they have any cool games but im probly going to have to buy a 360 as well. (actualy i might just mod a 36o to work with a PC so i can have some funny ass mods on it)

Don't trust what Sony says. They usually over-estimate their systems' power/battery life/etc.

My opinion is that Nintendo did Great on the first few systems but when the made gamecube the messed up there reputation. My friend got one and it crashed 2 months after he got it. He took it to a shop to fix and the said it was no good anymore so....I HATE THEM. I just hope the new system isnt as bad. Now Sony did great on both systems and cant wait till PS3 comes out. Microsoft did EXELLENT on XBox and cant wait till 360. Well thats just my opinion and dont no if anyone cares but ok.
