Anybody got any good movie ideas?
Even though Port Wait-a-ton isn't done yet we still discuss new ideas.
One I really wanted to do back in 2002 I don't know if I would now - it was a supernatural suspense film called "Greater Michigan Ghost Hunters" But since then "Ring" came out and 50 zillion ghost movie clones so, bleh.
We have some other ideas kicking around, like Jack Kirby: Alien Hunter, Squirrels, Adventure Inc. and The Kings and Queens of Karaoke. But each has problems. Alien Hunter might be monotonous, Squirrels would be really hard with all the squirrel robots and CGI we'd need (for them to attack humans), Adventure Inc is just a sequel. "Kings" would be good but it's a romantic comedy and could run the danger of being too "talky" "Kings" would also need a ton of extras, a bar, and Bruce Campbell (as a washed-up one-hit-wonder singer from the 80's)
I dunno... I want to something really different and off the wall if anything. Any ideas?

Actually, I had an idea for one a while ago, I just need to make the script (that always helps
) It's more of a drama than an action movie like you usually do. If you're interested in the basic plot, send me an email or PM

A parody of Indiana Jones would be cool. Perhaps a present day IJ? outrun cars darting across the freeway, to get away from "The Bowlders"- a street gang. And replace nazi's with somebody else evil, like a dog food company or somthing. I dunno...
I still like your idea for Mario Goes to College movie... That would be something worth watching. Fairly easy to make too.
I would really like to see a new movie series as good as the old star wars. It's time we got some new stuff that didn't suck. And it could be made somewhat cheaply thanks to cheaper CG animation nowadays. Of course it needs to not be sci-fi, I think people are fed up with that already ( I know I am..). That's where your genius comes in
I'll do some thinking and see if I can come up with some cool ideas...

how about a documentary? I haven't seen you do one of those...
okay ideas:
1)how about those people who dress up like anime characters at cons?
2)or follow some Amish kids around for a while. I'm sure some of them are in street gangs...
3)I always wanted to create an urban legend, and make a movie about the process. Kind of like blair witch, without kids in the woods. Or hell, throw some kids in the woods too, it's always fun.
good idea:
or a feature length movie documenting an extremely elaborate and funny practical joke, and all the problems/situations/planning involved. Example: Have aliens abduct you from a friend's house, shots fired, aliens down, people dead--get a few off-duty cops in on it, as well as coroners, emt's, scientists in radiation suits, guys with black suits and black sedans... have it last for DAYS. cut back and forth between that day's planning and execution phases. friends could come back to lifeand haunt the joke-e through small radio transmitters, tape recorders, etc....real scooby-doo. Make sure whoever you play this in the nut house when you're finished.
I'm really feeling that last idea... It's creative/violent/funny/informative. It'd be even better with a sex-scene. with one participant clueless...but the legal issues... Or you could fake the practical joke, and make the plot of the movie that you've been given $10,000 to perform a practical joke on somebody--you're a joke hitman!
(deep voiced movie-preview guy:) "Ben Heckendorn is a practical joke hitman, and he's just been given $10,000 to play the ultimate joke.
(random practical joke scenes)
(ben:) "I've never had a job this large, this has to be the ultimate..."
(small time practical joke scenes during voiceover)
(still ben:) "No more rice in the gas tank, switching keyboard keys around, or planting dead bodies in people's garages...this has to be big."
(deep voiced guy:) "who's the target? The president? (random other name), or you?"

Hey somebody bought the rights to a GOD OF WAR movie - that'd be cool to see. (Of course I say this as it's the only non-GTA non-FPS game I've beat in recent history)
Actually I'd love to do a videogame movie. Castlevania would be my first choice (though Van Helsing soured that pot) as well of Medal of Honor (though The Great Raid tanked and also might hurt its chances)
Remember if a movie tanks it kills any movie of that kind being funded for a long time (it was 8 years between Cutthroat Island and Pirates of Carribean you know) Case in point: any movie in development in Hollywood involing clones probably got deep-sixed after "Island"
Why do they always make movie games nobody cares about? Silent Hill? SPY FRICKING HUNTER?
Maybe we should start a web campaign to get me a Castlevania The Movie gig. Don't worry, it WOULD have candles, skeletons and the line "what a horrible night to have a curse"
