cd player built in speakers

Post by Joes2Silly »

I was thinking of this idea to build some speakers into a cd player.
I dont want like REALY good speakers but I do want some fairly good ones.
I was just wondering if anyone one could help me on this

This would be very easy to do as long as ther is space in the cd player. Just solder the speaker wires to the headphone jack pins. Put a switch to turn the speakers on and off. Also it may not be loud enough with the original amp so you may have to build a more powerful audio amp from scratch.

You could get someone to send you an audio amp from their Hip Gear screens adjust board. I have an extra one (with speakers) if you are interested.
ladyada said it can run off 3V, so you can power it off the CD players batterys.

The amp in your cd player is most likely integrated into the main mobo, so you are going to have to find a new place for it. Alos I would recommend using both of the speaker's from the hip gear, because stereo just mops the floor with mono.

Yeah, why couldnt you just use the volume control from the CD player :?

You can get some really loud CD players if its not loud enough for you.

I remember that my friend's was snapped shut in addition to being screwed shut. So make sure yu have all of the screws out thenget a flathead screwdriver andput it in the seam and twist it to pop the cd player in half.

Always look for these things wehn opening any thing
1) Normal screws. Screws under the lid.
2) Screws under stickers
3) Plastic tabs on the sides of the case that will hold it together. Use a flathead scredriver to pry them apart.

And if that dosn't work use a big concrete block to smash it open :D

Number 2 is a big one. I spent an hour trying to pry open my psone case, when I found that there was a screw under thewarranty sticker.
Also, just so you know, youll need really big speakers to make it sound good, or even here it at all. Computer speakers are pretty much the smallest speakers that you can get that will make it sound good at a reasonable distance.
