Well there are NES emulators for PocketPCs, but I'm not rsure about ones for the Palm OS.

I hope you mean a real Palm Pilot, not one of the $10 digital organizers, right? ;)

EDIT: there's an article about this on www.nesplayer.com , but wait until September 1 to visit the site because they've used up their monthy allotment of bandwidth. :(

Yeah if your gonna mod one top play nes emus than you'll need at least a $80 to $140 palm. It shouldn't be that hard.

thats what i meant. not just one of the origanisers but at the same time not the most expensive either because its unessecary if yer just playing roms. i know my friend has like every NES game on his X-Box but how many NES roms are there actually and where can i get them?
which are the best ROMS/Emulators
another thing , do you think its possible to use a regualr NES contoller?
i dont know if i would just take out all the guts of the Palm Pilot and make a different case or what. i just thought of this today and it got me thinking.
i was just looking for insight here on how possible this could be.
i know experientation doesnt come cheap by any means but the cheaper it is the more $$ i have for other projects etc.

thanks for your input so far

pat (im new around here so please dont flame me) :)

an atari or a gameboy emulator would probably be easier and faster

ive done this. It doesnt work too welll unless you have a good palm, but here you go.

Youll need a palm overclocking utility for decent results

Youll have best results on gameboy emulators

as for your joystick idea, it's possible to wire the joystick to the points on the board, but there are generally limitations in the system of how many button it will accept input from at once. (it's usually a bit low, like 2).
You may want to modify a keyboard--it'll still have that problem, but it will be removable.

or there's always the tapwave zodiac. it's a palm, built for emus... and it's always cheaper in the long run just to buy an item rather than build it.
