My stupid idea

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

My stupid idea

Post by psychotic_mechanic »

I find full size shoulder camcorders at thrift stores that are nearly free, do you think the color eyepiece / viewfinder thing could be hacked into a monitor? Most of the camcorders have A/V in and out , do you think the companies would change the signal to RGB for the eyepiece or leave it as A/V?

I know, I should just buy one and tear it apart

Add in an adjustable strap to go around your noggin and one earphone so you can be mistaken for a borg by a trekkie.

I don't think those are LCD screens...

I have an old (1989) RCA camcorder, and in the data sheet it says it's a tiny CRT.

If that's right...Duck Hunt! It would be like those claw-candy machines; Win every time :)

That would be amazing, to play Duck Hunt on a .5" screen! Now all you have to do is not miss the screen…
