Battery Question

Post by 4zr43l »

I am thinking about buying some Lithium Polymer batteries for portabilizing, but I need to know, how would I charge these.

The ones I am looking at are the 2200mAH platinum ploymer batteries. I don't want to buy a charger if I can avoid it, as I have a history of them malfunctioning with me.

Well you need either a charger or a DC jack close to the same voltage as the battery and hook it up to the wall.
Those are the only ways.

So a charger would be one of the specifc ones mentioned on the site, and a DC jack is just a general charger like the one you would have for supplying power to a mini-fridge?

Use the one closest to the voltage of your battery and highest maH to recharge quicker.

Is there a maximum volt difference before it's shot? I will be running 14.8 V, and I don't want to burn out or wear out the batteries by using a 12 V charger if it won't work.

I did a little looking, and I think it is Lithium Ion batteries that need the special charger, but I suppose that if I need a special charger, I'd rather get the Lithium Polymer just because they hold their charge better.
