Creative Notebook Speakers

I dont own either one of those but the one that clips on to the top of your laptop looks cool

Dont need either. My speakers are on the edge of the case (closest to me). Not to mention that I have yet to turn them up to a quarter of their power, I dont blast my music but you can hear this about 20-25 feet away and the speakers facing the opposite direction.

Can Creative make that claim?

The first one looks OK, but I know from experience that the tiny ones that clip to the top of the laptop sound like excrement. Plug a pair of cheap headphones into the speaker jack and crank the volume for better fidelity. Speakers that small are almost always tinny.

Same goes for those "flat" speakers. To me they sound as flat as they look. And the old "Sound Bug" thing, which used a suction cup and a vibration unit to vibrtate surfaces to make sound, is a waste of 30 bucks. (I don't think they make it anymore.

)

Just stick with the built-in speakers. The only really terible-sounding one I have ever heard is in the Powerbook 1400. (Tinny as hell)

I know one good set of portable speakers, the JBL OnStage. They are made for an iPod, but if you don't have one, they make excellent laptop speakers too. They have excellent bass for their size, and are very clear. The design even makes it easy to carry. You need an 18v power source for them though, so make sure you have that.

i ordered the 2nd ones
i got em for $25 from buy.com
iv heard these ones and they have really good quality sound
even if they are "flat"

the speaker to get arent made by creative.

they may used to be hot stuff back way back when but now a days they just make cheaply made products with a high price tag. better off going with something made by some one else (no cyber acustics though, ick)
