What's so good about VGA? You need DVI! Also, what are you using for sound?*o* wrote:VGA feed form computer!
Mines better I have a 23" tv, with DVD player and surround sound, Xbox and PS2 all in one area. Sitting just ajasent is my computer desk. Right side sits my G3 Mac, left side sits my P4 Gateway tower, on top is (left to right) left speaker, 250 watt sub, 17" CRT, right speaker, HP copy/scan/print combo... I know I cant hold a candle to a 8' 4" screen.
You really want to see what it looks like I could take pics... Like *o* should.

My dad got a media projector for free from work last week. (They calimed it to be "broken". The only thing wrong with it was the VGA cable that runs from the computer to the projector.
)
I think it supports XGA res (1024x768). I hooked up my NES to it and projected it onto the living room wall. Mario was absolutely HUGE and very very pixellated.
(Composite dot crawl is very noticeable when your screen is 7 feet diagonally.) I can only imagine what the Atari VCS would have looked like!
I'm going to rig up a Linux box with emulators for about every system I can get my hands on, and hook it up to the projector. Maybe I'll project it onto the side of the garage?
Those things are FUN!

Why not try what me and some friends talked about long ago when Street Fighter was the coolest thing ever. Just play SF2 at the size that *o* has it all the characters would be almost life size.

Sounds cool! We're redoing our basement, and will have some kind of home theatre setup. The problem is, my dad and brother are hoping to get a big screen or plasma, while I want a projector. Those that actually know a thing or 2 about this kind of thing (me, boss, etc.) are in favor of getting a projector, and yet by dad/bro refuse to budge. To make things worse, they have asked other people, friends and the like. These people don't really know much about this, and all say big screen.
Oh yeah, I'm trying to get my dad to get a HTPC for $100, good system, at a garage sale. Any ideas? The sale ends today.
