Alert!?!?!

Post by HotDog-Cart »

Hey this has nothing to do with this site, but it has everything to do with everyone with Internet

There is a New Virus going around, and you can get it by just connecting to the Internet.
What it does: everytime you turn on your computer, it will boot up but it will immedatly reset, and keep reseting,

Source: mcafee Security Center or whatever its called, the news maybe on www.mcafee.com

just thought i'd warn you guys, if you have Nortons, mcafee, or ZoneAlarm, or ZoneAlarm Pro, or any other Firewalls, you are Potientally safe, if the FireWall is Updated (mcafee and Nortons Require Updates, so i suggest ZoneAlarm pro Trial, and when Trial Ends, switch to ZoneAlarm)

will it get to the main windows screen for will it reset b/f windows even starts.

i went to mcafee and the only new virus (higher than low risk) is this

http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default. ... s_k=135491

It has the same syptoms as the one you described, but it can only bet gotten through IRC. Could this be what you were thinking of?

well its said to be HIGH Risk for Home and Coperate Computers, it just makes the computer keep reseting, and it affects any thing that conncets to the internet....i doubt DOS and SafeMode can Block it, But maybe,
like on some comps when it resets many time, it gives you a choice to select SafeMode or Dos

i heard about that earlier because dad's an internet cop and discovered it and said windows update has something that protects my computer from it but windows update won't work on my computer :( . i think it might be the wireless internet because the other computers on the same LAN (or whatever it's called) aren't wireless and it works on them. could this be the problem? BTW, this should be in the virus sticky
