NEED A NEW PCB for PSONE LCD OFFICIAL

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

NEED A NEW PCB for PSONE LCD OFFICIAL

Post by eastsider_1 »

I NEED A PSONE PCB- MESSED UP OLD ONE!!!. If anyone can tell me where i can get a PCB for my screen please tell me. Also, alongtimeago when i bought my 1st screen- didnt know u could hack it then- i put some kind of signal into the A/V jack and my screen turned green. I had no idea why and then later on in life i thought about putting the screen on my PS2. when i did- i had a game which was on DVD format- in the ps2. To my utter astonishment i had bypassed the PROTECTION that the PS2 had. In other words tricking my screen into thinking the PS2 was the PS1 and vice-versa. To my tragic realization, i thought it was done. Then one day the CFCC bulb burst. Thus i threw it away

Eastsider I suggest you got to the trading post and look around there. I know some people have spare PSone screen parts.

i have one. works perfect but the cathode lighter isn't working. You can do the LED mod though and have a perfect working screen :)

If worst comes to worst and you can't find the parts cheaply, EB Games sells PSone screens for $30 used. I got one there and I will never regret it! Make sure you have some way of powering it though, it doesn't come with an adapter when used.

Interesting, it seems you shifted the display into component mode somehow.

tom61- you could be right. But how would that happen if i ( stupidly tried to put a video out cable from my TV into the A/V jack) and it switched modes? could it have been permanent? Anyway...segasonicfan is there any way i can get that old screen off u by any chance?

How could that be? The screen can only be put into component mode by the main MCU. It literally has to tell the LCD CPU to go into Component mode. Its SUPPOSED to be software controlled. Figure out WTF went "wrong" and i will try to simulate it here. I can add in the parts for Component Input, and give everyone a good idea how to get this mod done, if its possible.

Once i build or buy a datalogger, i just might be able to make a modchip for the PSOne screen to enable Component Mode... But i have a lot of projects on my workbench that has a MUCH higher prioity than anything that could be fun. Thats why im always angry, i dont get to do FUN projects anymore!
