I was opening my CD player that im making, and I noticed that one of the ribbon cables was out of the socket. I tried to stick it in, but the cable broke.
I wasn't too dissappointed, its only 8 wires, and then other ends of the wires have traces that can easilly be replaced. I was wondering how I could go about removing the white clip thingy that holds the cable so I can solder directly to the pins. If there is any specific way not to damage it and ruin the CD player?
And I was wondering if soldering to the pins would be a challenge, even though there is only 8.
Broken cable= biggy?

yeah i opened up a new CD player (this one didnt start out broken)
And the guts are much bigger than the previous one. the sound dosent get as loud, but I dont like it that loud anyway. All of the components on this board were soldered flat. mabye to keep it small...
Anyway, im comparing the 2 cd players...
OLD features:
gets really loud
Iffy operation(kinda slow)
Disc spinning patterns. The disc would spin really fast and stop, as if it had preloaded the rest of the song, and it would continuewhen needed.
NO LCD!
New one: kinda big board. il do what I can.
disc spinns slow, making it quiet.
Built in LCD
Volume dosent get as loud, but loud enough for me!
And the bass boost feature. i dont have any bass oriented songs(nintendo music) but will be useful to other users
Ps: I typed the whole thing with 1 hand(the other was holding the CLOSE button down for now.) so sorry for any typing mistakes!
