Initial test

Well, I hooked up my NOAC and my Hip Gear screen to 4 alkalines just now. Besides power, the only other connection I made was composite. I left the brightness, contrast, and color wires unwired. I did manage to get a VERY garbled picture of Lifeforce. The picture was rolling very fast horizontally and it was skewed about 10 times over. But I could make out a few things.

Is this the kind of behavior that I should expect without the video pots in the circuit?

The reason I didn't hook up the pots was because I simply don't have them yet. They should be in the mail from allelectronics.com right now. I just got a little impatient and wanted to see something.

did you have ground between the NES and the screen wired

That's not right at all. It should be a somewhat dark screen, but it should look standable. Did you bypass the 7808?

Yes, I bypassed the 7808. Both the screen main board and the NOAC were wired directly to the batteries. I did not use the knob board which contains the 7808.

Turbo Tax, what do you mean ground between both wired?

He meant did have ground going to the NOAC and screen.
