Why would you want to remove one or all of the chips?

Well, thanks for all the help guys but Fry's sucked it.

They didn't have a desoldering gun.

They had only ONE package of test cords with the clips on em. They did have more, but I don't need 22" long ones at a thicker wire gauge and only get half as many for the same price.

Their resistor selection sucked. They were clean out of 1k.

Horrible selection of pots. No minis. Just massive mofos.

I did manage to get some new Dremel bits. But that's about it. I guess tomorrow I'm going to Radio Shack to pay high prices.

Does anyone know of a good chain or online store to get electronic components from?

Thanks guys.

Should I get 1/8W resistors? Or 1/4W? I'm not sure. I'm guessing the wattage of a NOACp with the Hip Gear is incredibly small. 1/4W, right?

EDIT: Wow, the prices at Jameco destroy the place I just went to. I'm glad they had nothing to buy.

Well, you DON"T want to remove all of the chips, but if you want to remove ONE surface mount component, you use a chip-quik or desoldering braid.

Actually, those appear to be the ones that you need a screwdriver to turn. I got like 10 of em for 1$
