Ive even counted the Pins that hold up the INTEL chip, 32. Im still studying this chip to learn what it can do, and how its contents are edited.
After reading pervious posts, this matches gannons idea. "the games use 32 pins" and I found the 32. Now I know the games are on that chip, and Ive found the nessessiary(wrong spelling I think) pins. Now I have an extremely easy thing to solder to, rather than directly to that chip. Awesome! time to look for someone who has experience in this sort of thing...

Thank you! That type of chip is supported! I emailed them about getting something to access this chips contents, or what types of things I should buy.

As for your controller, Mine is a Rev 3, yours says type 4, so mabye yours is a newer version! Good luck modifying it!

I emailed INTEL today and I got 2 things..
1. a data sheet of this chip!
2. a place to buy a thing to hook it up to my computer.( i have to know how.)

This could be revolutionary with NOACs. The ability to control what games you have on the system would be amazing. And even if that particular flash memory chip can not store certain games, since we now have the pinout for that chip and thus into the games system. It would be possible to replace that chip with a more suitable chip!

This is a NOAC with modified graphics. It's neat.

I opened mine up recently, and found a different chip. Yep, no Intel. Not a big surprise though.

I bet its still a flash memory thing, or mabye it just has Preloaded data that cannot be edited. I have asked INTEL and they say that this one is totally accessible. Im thinking of a portable emulator with whatever roms I load on it.

Sounds good, except it probably wouldn't work with games that used Mappers, would it? :?

hmm I'm looking for something to get, and about 1/2 way down the list i saw:

And goodie could be correct about the mappers not being supported. Do you know what mappers do, and what they are for? If not, im sure either one of us (LIEK ME!) could tell you, or just look for info on the net. Then you will understand why mappers are probabbly not supported...

and I was unshure what you meant. Did you mean that the Glop top NES would not be expandable to play games with mappers?


I was thinking so, until I remembered: The glop top super joy 3 thing took all of my cartriges. So i was wondering what you can tell me about this thing.

The NES runs off a 6502 CPU with some added in features. Most cheap knockoff NES' use either a subsititute CPU, or a low end version of the 6502. Because of this, the sound and graphics are not always 100% accurate. Sometimes the NES Clone cant support certian (or any) mappers.

Mappers are add in hardware to the carts that usually give extra ROM to the games. It works off of something called Bank Switching. Bank switching, simply put, is an easy way to put graphics or sounds on multiple chips, and select that ONE chip when a graphic or sound is needed. All computers (yes, the NES is a computer!) can only handle so much memory. Since the NES can handle so little at once, what N did was put data on multiple chips, then add in a Mapper to let the game know which chip has what.

Knock off NES clones dont have full suppor for mappers, if it has any at all.

And you are right, im willing to help anyone who needs it. As long as they dont want me to do all the work for them, and they can figure out some of the more obvious things for themselves. Too often i come across some douche that doesnt have a clue, and even when i give them a step by step fully illustrated guide, they still dont know what to do. Thats what makes me so angry all the time. That and i dont get to work on my fun projects as often.

I get what you're saying. However, this is what I found.
The POWER PLAYER 3 comparison to the TV PLayer power(handy boy)
Power player 3: Playes like 20 different built in games. cart slot
Handy boy: 11 built in. No cart slot. Loads games off of flash chip.

Sound test!!!!!
power player 3: mabye close. not so good quality.Comparing games shows big differences
Handy boy: Sound is practically identical. The only game that I can base this off of is Balloon boy 2, and The sounds are practically copied from the NES.

Graphics?
Power player 3: Pretty good. Lines visible in background.
Handy boy: no lines visible. Graphics identical In balloon boy 2 (except for minor changes in the models)

Composition?
Power player 3: 2 glop tops and One chip.
Handy boy: one very large glop top, a chip, and the flash memory chip.

Conclusion: the possibilities are a little better with the handy boy. The sound and graphics are almost identical, and the power player is a little bit off. I am then wondering why the Power player 3, which is worsely related to the NES can play good games, and even ones like megaman, and the Handy boy cannot? My only guess is that this handy boy would not be able to access this extra data, making it only work for less complicated games.
