Vacuum forming question

Post by atkafighter »

Hi,
I have a question for everyone that has vacumformed a case (Triton, dkap01). How do you form the back of the case? With Tritons' case I saw that he used two positive molds so I'm guessing that you screw them together, but I was wondering what other ways could I do the back (using the least amount of plastic). How did you do the back of your portables dkap01? I would like to make only one positive mold and use it for all of my portables (only cutting out diffrent control panels).
Thanks

i have not completeed the vacuum form proccess yet but i have my mold, table, and plastic is coming

i only have one mold that i plan to flip over to get both sides and sand the back side down for awhile

but i think when you have your clay mold you are supposed to block off the front part then cover it in plaster then cover the back in plaster

studio creations on pod explains it better with pics cause i know i cant explain crap
when life gives you lemons make flux
