intec(cause i couldn't afford hip gear)

i was reading past threads and i got confused. does the intec controller screen take 6v normally or must it be modded. also if i gotta mod this thing, how? will taking out the 7808/7805 kill the audio amp? sorry for asking these common questions but i couldn't figure it out and i dont wanna kill my screen.

You have to bypass the 7808 to run it off 6V. And as long as you don't put anything higher than 8V in the screen/amp power source, it will be just fine.

i knew that but im having trouble finding the 7808 thing

oh crap, i hooked it up to 5.7 volts and the backlight lit up and all but then only half the screen lit up. i must have blown the bulb but i thought they were in sereies. i still haven't done the led mod or the 7808 thing

FIXED: i just needed proper voltage

i have the intec screen
it runs off 6v but the backlight is dimmed a little

i tested it more and i had no trouble with it running off 6v. i accidentaly messed with one of the tint variable resistors but its fine now. even though im making a nesp i tested with a snes and the colors were amazing(it was zool). so bright and pretty. i ditched the plastic cover for glass causer the controller is used and it was scratched. did anyone else get theres in a cool metal box. i got mine from amozon and didn't expect any packaging. it was a nice surprize.
