Sticky maybe? How to stop the virus if u cant get rid of it.

This might be sticky worthy? idk.

If you have the "BenHeck Forum Virus" and u cant get rid of it with your anti-virus software and you don't want to restore your computer, you can stop it so it doesnt affect you while u are working on your computer. (windows only)

Symptoms of the Virus on Your Computer

1. On the bottom right hand corner you will have a red circle with a white "x" in it and every few minutes it displays a ballon.
2. You get pop-ups that display things such as weight loss, enlargement things, porn, or "Your a Winner" window.
3. You get weird icons on your desktop, such as porn, cigarettes, credit cards, etc.
4. When you open up your browser you get either a search website or a pharmacy page, and when you try to visit a website it will only take you to one of those 2 websites.

How To Stop It

If you are unable to get rid of it with anti-virus software, then this will stop it, unfortunatly you have to do this everytime you start your computer, and if u visit the hompage, sometimes it will start again, in which case you will have to stop it again.

1. Hit ctrl+alt+delete and bring up your task manager.
2. Right click the program "rundll32.exe" and select "End Process Tree". There might be more then one of these running so you will have to end any and all that are there.
3. When you want to visit a website with your browser you will have to use "www." before the website name and it will come up.
4. You might want to empty your cookies too just in case.

This is a temporary solution to stop the virus while you are using your computer.

I just removed this thing from my uncles computer. here are some additional precautions

1. Start, run, type in msconfig
2. Click the startup tab
3. Click on disable all, then apply, then ok, and then hit Exit without Restarting
-----------------------
1. Start, run, type in regedit
2.go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\softwere\microsoft\windows\currentversions
3. delete all file from Run, RunOnce, and RunOnceEX EXCEPT DEFULT
4. go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\softwere\microsoft\windows\currentversions
5. delete all files in Run, and RunOnce EXCEPT DEFULT
6. Repeat the first part and makesure nothing is checked on the list
7. Restart the computer

(also if you have some free time go looking for the virus on your harddrive. I found it on my uncles computer but can't remember were it was, I think it was in common file but am not sure. Make sure you have "see hidden folders" enabled... I remember it was a hidden file)

Temporary fix.

Download Damn Small Linux.

Burn the ISO to a CD.

Restart.

Boot up from CD.

Small linux until you can go out and get anti-virus software/re-install windows.

or just download the demo of norton, from download.com, long enough to have it delete the virus.

it's on the sidebar. http://benheck.com/Navicomm%20Start.htm is one of the 3 places I've seen it. (the other 2 are the video game and movies sidebar) There's a line of Javascript at the very bottom, and I see a tiny little square under the light blue menu part.

I saw a little triangle of lighter blue under the sidebar, but I have yet to get the virus.
